Peaceful Retreat on the River Bank

Micklegarth is a unique chalet bungalow on the banks of the River Deben. Relaxing and peaceful, it is a wonderful place to rest your head after a day's walking, bird watching and touring the sights of Suffolk. Micklegarth provides a wonderful opportunity to stay on the banks of the River Deben. With perfect river views, it's a great summer base for touring the local area. The house is a peaceful chalet-bungalow with sun lounge overlooking the river at the front of the property, and a balcony perfect for BBQs at the back. The property has recently been renovated internally, with a good sized living and cooking area, sun lounge and 2 bedrooms. You'll have access to the whole house and ample outside space. Whilst there are boats kept tucked away on the property, these are not for guest use and visitors are reminded that (should this be an area of interest) rental boats are available to hire from the boat yard 2 minutes walk away. I will be available to welcome you on arrival and contactable by telephone during your stay. There are lots of rural activities to do nearby and The Maybush pub a couple of minutes walk away is great for a pint and a meal. Waldringfield has a small beach outside the sailing club. The area is great for walks and exploring the local area. The popular town of Woodbridge is a 15 minute drive away. Due to the rural location, public transport is limited so a car is recommended. The closest train station, however, is Woodbridge which is approximately 15 minutes away in a taxi. The closest supermarket is a 15 minute drive away. Please note there is a public footpath which runs along the river bank to the front of the property.
