Mags' Cottage is a modern 1 bedroom end of terrace bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac in the village of Ballachulish, just 1 mile from Glencoe. The cottage has private parking, a secluded, fully-enclosed back garden with decking and a seating area and magnificent mountain views. It is just a short walk short walk from the shops, & the local bar/restaurant. A great base for exploring the spectacular West Coast of Scotland. The cottage has been totally refurbished to provide 4-Star self-catering accommodation for 2 people. The cosy lounge has a comfy sofa, TV, WiFi.....and amazing views of the mountains. The bedroom is bright and airy and has a very comfortable king size bed for a restfull nights sleep. The lovely modern kitchen is very well equipped with ceramic hob, fan oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The shower-room has a large walk-in rain shower (always plenty of hot water) and soft fluffy towels. The cottage heating is eco-friendly hydro-electric which keeps the cottage very cosy! The entrance hall has a large walk-in cupboard for coats and footwear, whilst the bedroom has a double built-in wardrobe. Entire cottage and large garden, except the front bedroom which is used for owners' storage. My co-host Rhomi lives in the village and is happy to help if needed during your stay. Ballachulish is world-famous for it's Slate Quarry which has been transformed to offer a Heritage Trail and walks in the most tranquil setting and it is a haven for wildlife. The ancient Burial Island (Eilean Munda) sits in Loch Leven, just opposite the Slate Quarry and it is the burial place for the local Clan Chiefs, including the MacDonalds of Glencoe. The Ballachulish/Glencoe area is ideal for walking, climbing, skiing and for sea and loch fishing.......or just relaxing! Ballachulish is on the regular local bus route between Fort William and Kinlochleven and on the Citylink bus route between Glasgow and Skye. There is a Co-op supermarket in Ballachulish which stocks food, newspapers, toiletries, beer, wines and spirits. Open daily from 7am - 10pm The Post Office is also in this building. For eating out in the village we have The Laroch Bar/Restaurant which serves wonderful food by chef Allan Donald. Also, the Quarry Cafe serving Fish & Chips, sit-in or take-away. Other bars, restaurants and cafes are within a few minutes drive from here.
