Private Studio accommodation to main barn, situated on Offa's Dyke in AONB, this 400 year old barn is uniquely placed in Wye Valley. 10 minutes from Monmouth, Tintern and 20 minutes from Chepstow, nearby pubs and excellent restaurants. Forest of Dean is just 10 mins away! Perfect location for country walks, cycling, wildlife or relaxing in beautiful surroundings !! Large Studio room has double bed, dining table, TV, wifi, separate wet room, separate kitchen, use of gym. Enclosed walled garden. This self contained studio annex is just the place to stay if you want to come and go as you please but know we are nearby if you have any questions ! The main room has a queen size double bed, bedside tables, dining table and chairs, and ample room for clothing in a double wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a large en-suite walk in wet room/shower, toilet, and hand basin. . There is also an attached small private kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate, toaster, kettle and crockery & cutlery. Outside there is comfortable garden furniture so you can relax with your favourite drink as you watch the sun go down, walk around the front and rear gardens, chill out on the patio after a long day exploring the area, and use the well equipped gym. There is also storage for bicycles, a hose for cleaning muddy tyres or boots and we can give you access to a washer and dryer for clothes if the weather is unpredictable. From this tranquil setting guests can explore the Royal Forest of Dean, enjoyable in all seasons, and the Lower Wye Valley, the magnificent borderland between England and Wales. Gumbersland Barn is on Offa's Dyke and the river Wye is a mile down the road and all the attractions of the Forest of Dean are within a 10 minute drive. Clearwell Castle, Caves, Puzzle Wood, the historic villages of St Briavels, with its ancient moated castle, and Tintern, renowned for its impressive Abbey are all nearby. Guest access Entrance to Gumbersland Barn is off Stowe Road, just a few hundred yards from the Bigsweir bridge. A stone walled entrance leads to a track that runs down to the main car park. Interaction with guests Your hosts Stuart and Gill live in the grade 2 listed barn but if we are not around then access to the Studio is via a key code. Either way you will get a friendly welcome, help you settle in and answer any queries during your stay, if not in person then via mail or text. If we are at home we will answer any questions and socialise if you want to, or leave you entirely to yourself, its up to you! If we are not around we can always be contacted via email or text. This is the Stunning Lower Wye Valley - say no more! Offer's Dyke walk, cycling in the Forest of Dean Tintern Abbey, Castles and Symonds Yat all on the doorstep! We have two very friendly dogs (Bella and Buddy) who will want to say hello, but we can keep them away if you don't want to interact with them. Other things to note Depending on your network, mobile phone reception is patchy but guests are welcome to use the house landline if needed. Wi-fi is available but don't expected super fast broad band as we are in the middle of the Valley!.
