North Wales Conwy Valley Farm House
Plas Uchaf Farm is close to Glan Conwy in the beautiful Conwy valley overlooking the estuary with views of Conwy Castle in one direction and the foothills of Snowdonia the other.. The house is 16c, quirky, with creaky floors and wonky walls but the bedroom and bathroom are spotless, with lashings of hot water, wonderful comfy bed and linen. Own sitting room available, squidgy sofas and wood burner. Parts of the house are in need of restoration/decoration, this is an ongoing project of ours. Plas Uchaf is a family home on a working stock farm where my husband David and I live. We have four children (all grown up now), 7 dogs, 3 cats, 5 chickens, 1 guinea fowl, horses, pigs, sheep and cows. It can be muddy so suitable footwear recommended. The drive leading from the road is more of a farm track with a few lumps and bumps on the way! (I drive a mini and its fine!) Park in the yard, our garden gate and path lead to the front door. The en suite bedroom has a king size bed, this can be split into two singles if necessary. The 2nd bedroom has a king size bed and its own shower, toilet and wash basin across the landing. The staircase was added to the house in the Elizabethan era and is quite uneven. Oak panelling dates from 1573, when the house was built. It is believed that the site of the house has had a dwelling on it since the 11 hundreds. There is fridge space available (for the makings of a packed lunch for example) and continental breakfast is provided. Tea and Coffee facilities are available in the bedrooms. We have log burning stoves in the sitting room and hall for cosy and welcoming warmth in winter. Guests have access to a sitting room with TV and wood burning stove. Breakfast will be served in the Hall but we ask guests to vacate this room once everyone has finished so I can clear the breakfast things safely. The garden is open for use if and when the weather is nice enough. There are good walks, straight from the front door, where the most wonderful views can be seen and enjoyed. There are parts of the farm that are out of bounds, this is for your own safety so please check with David or Nicky first before setting off. The kitchen can be used for making packed lunches, by prior arrangement. There is a place where wet coats and boots can be dried and a shed where bikes can be stored. Please ensure that you make reservations for your evening meals. In these current times North Wales is very busy so we advise booking restaurants well in advance of your stay. We stress the importance of this as we do NOT accommodate takeaway or evening meals at our home. I and or my husband will be on hand to welcome you and help out with any queries. We want you to enjoy your stay in North Wales and to have good memories of your time with us. North Wales has so much to offer from the local towns of Conwy and Llandudno for sight seeing and shopping. The local activities are abundant. Surf Snowdia, Tree Tops high wire, mountain biking, walking, dry ski slope, Rib Ride, gorge walking, sailing to name just a few. There is a list of restaurants with telephone numbers in photos. Due to the Covid rules we will take extra care to keep our distance which means we won’t help carry luggage upstairs. We will guide you to your rooms with this consideration in mind. All surfaces will have been wiped down with anti bacterial spray including hand pump soaps etc., Please leave used towels in the bath. There is hand sanitiser for your use. We ask for you to use it on arrival and when returning from any trips out.
