Cosy cottage with private garden and scenic views

Perfect for family breaks, Hodgehay Cottage is a charming cottage built circa1920. Retaining many period features, it's comfortable and cosy home from home. Its 3 bedrooms give plenty of space for parties of up to 5. You can explore the beautiful surroundings of South Somerset, Dorset and Devon with ease. Bath and Bristol are close by too Blessed with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside the cottage is fitted with everything we feel you require to enjoy your holiday here in Somerset. I have furnished the house with all the essentials required for a self-catering cottage. Books videos and games are provided for quiet relaxation. The beds are made with crisp quality linen and ample storage is provided in each room. For families with younger children I can supply a bed bumper or travel cot. There is a potty and high chair suitable from the age of 6 months approx. The open plan kitchen diner is well equipped including a microwave and coffee machine. I provide a small welcome pack so you can immediately settle into your holiday. The lounge is bright and spacious with two separate seating areas so you can chose to relax with the TV or with a book. The cottage has a small private garden to the rear with a picnic table and umbrella for dining outside and a new (for 2018) BBQ. There is a private gated driveway to the side of the cottage which is large enough for 3 cars if your party arrives in several vehicles. We live in the adjoining cottage so can usually be found on hand should you have any difficulties. After your arrival I make sure you are settled in to the cottage before leaving you to enjoy your stay in Somerset. New for 2020 the village hosts a Fish and Chip van on Tuesday evenings which compliments the Wood fired Pizza van that visits the village on Wednesday evenings. The village has a small shop, pub and golf course. The church is Grade1 listed with a stunning painted pulpit. You can take younger children to the playground at the village hall and enjoy watching the local cricket team in the summer. There are many local lanes and public paths to stroll and enjoy. Harry's (Award winning) Cider is practically on our doorstep with Point of Sale most weekends. The best method to get around is by car however the immediate area is well served by lanes suitable for leisurely walks that end in lazy lunches at one of the many local pubs. The cottage is No Smoking and sorry we don't accept pets.
