Our lovely flat is located in a listed building on Aberdour's Main Street. There is a 5 minute walk to the station and the village centre's pubs and shops, 5 minutes to the Fife Coastal Path and 10 minutes to the beach and harbour. Edinburgh City Centre is 30 minutes by train (airport 45 minutes). We have off street parking and are next door to a corner shop. The flat has free WiFi . There is a wood burning stove in the living room and the flat has been recently decorated in neutral tones. You enter the flat through a small hallway, which has some hanging space for coats and bags. The living room has a lovely comfortable 'L' shaped sofa and armchair . There is a West Elm coffee table which has a section that you can raise up to act as a desk. You can use the wood burning stove, internet television and Amazon Alexa. There are some board games and books that guests are welcome to use. We will leave a log for the burner so you can get a fire started. You can buy more logs at the garden centre in Dalgety Bay or the petrol station at Dalgety Bay. The bedroom has a double bed with Indian Cotton bedding and there is also a high sleeper bed suitable for a child - this configuration suits us as a family of 3. Please do have a look at the photos to see how the bedroom is laid out and check this meets with your requirements. A travel cot is available for babies. There is cupboard with drawers and shelves. There is no wardrobe hanging space but there are some hooks over the bedroom door with 6 hangers. There is a full length mirror and a hairdryer. The kitchen is a small kitchen with an electric hob, oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need to cook a meal. There is a small table and 2 fold away chairs in the kitchen. There is a nespresso coffee machine with a milk heater. There are also some basic provisions in the cupboard which you are welcome to use. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet . There is a mirror and shaving plug. Towels will be provided. The flat is accessible via the rear of the building and there is a flight of 6 stone steps to the front door from the car park. There is a wrought iron banister, but this might not be suitable for people with mobility issues. In the past the garden for our flat was converted into a car parking space . We have not been able to restore the garden but we have made a small outdoor seating area with a BBQ , table and chairs. Once you have booked we will send you the details of how to collect the keys. Our downstairs neighbours will have them usually. You will be able to contact us by phone or email with any questions during your stay. Aberdour is a lovely community, there are golf, tennis , bowling and sailing clubs in the village . The Silver Sands Beach is award winning and has life guards during peak season. There is a cafe on the Silver Sands that is open for breakfast and lunch - the view is stunning. Aberdour is well positioned to access lots of beautiful walks including the Fife Coastal Path. There is information about some of the walks and an OS Map in the flat. The village has a good real ale pub the 'Foresters Arms' and 2 hotels, The 'Aberdour Hotel' and the 'Woodside' - both do good food. There is a fish restaurant, 'Room with a View' down near the harbour. You can visit 'McTaggarts Cafe' in the village and the village deli and bakers. The flat is next door to the 'Purple Shop' - you can buy Dalachy Farm meat and fresh rolls at the shop. It also sells newspapers, wine/beer and general provisions. Aberdour has it's own castle and the 13th Century St Fillans Church. The Number 7 bus runs from outside the door to Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy . The train station has direct trains to Edinburgh every half an hour.
