Quirky countryside comforts in a beautiful space.
This is the perfect place for a country weekend away. We are 3 minutes walk from the Kennet and Avon Canal. You can wend your way along the tow path, with its canal boats, fields and woods, all the way to the beautiful aquaduct at Dundas with its quirky cafe and canoe hire, or to Avoncliff with its even more stunning aquaduct and cosy pub. The bus stop is 100m down the hill, and the bus takes you directly into the historic city of Bath, or to the quaint old weaving town of Bradford on Avon. The space is part of our house, but completely separate and private. It has its own lovely Georgian front door and a courtyard area with seating for your morning coffee. We are keen to welcome couples and families with small children as well as older guests. The bedroom is a triple room: super king size bed with a single bed. There are children's books and toys and there are small touches to help parents, like a child's toilet seat, and stepping stool in the bathroom, and highchair if you need it. The bathroom has a huge deep bath and there is underfloor heating throughout to keep everything cosy or cool, depending on your preference! The living room has a large, comfortable sofa, Smart TV with Netflix and all the usual channels, plus a small dining table and chairs. There is a kitchenette, with fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave: but no stove, cooker, or dishwasher. All the crockery is handmade and the whole place is quirky and original. Always available to answer questions: just text or knock on our door! We live in a very quiet space: so if you are into parties and loud music, we are definitely not the place for you. If you like tranquillity, this is the place to choose. the early morning birdsong is mesmerising and the owls in the wood at the bottom of the garden are wonderful. We live along a driveway with only 5 other houses, so it is very private and you are unlikely to be disturbed. The bus stop is 100m from our house. The ride into the centre of Bath takes approximately 15-20 minutes, and from there you connect to anywhere. Eco friendly credentials We try very hard to be as eco friendly as we can. We have a recycling bin outside your front door for all recycling and we encourage you to use it. There is a compost bin in the kitchen and all our cleaning products are environmentally friendly and mainly in glass bottles. Shampoo, conditioner, washing up liquid and all cleaning sprays are in glass and refilled with eco friendly products. We try not to use any plastic and all soaps are wrapped in paper. Our electricity for the house is bought through 100% renewable sources and we have an electric car charger on the drive which you are welcome to use for the cost of the electricity.
