Overlooking the Kinderhook Creek rapids on a rural paved road and AHET Rail Trail. Minutes to Hudson and Kinderhook. You may see Carolina Wrens, Cardinals, Chickadees, Woodpeckers, Goldfinches and Hummingbirds. The creek to the front attracts Bald and Golden Eagles, Osprey, Blue Herons, Red Tail Hawks, Ducks and Geese. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ALLOWED. This 1400 sf home is on three levels with shared laundry in walk-out basement, main floor with eat-in kitchen (sliders open to deck in front, private patio all along back), living room with reading area and plant sunporch, bath with large shower and guest bedroom with king size bed and twin daybed, also with sliding door to back patio and outdoor shower (in season). It is necessary for guests to vacate the property by 9 for us to do the proper COVID cleaning which takes longer than normal due to extra care. Either myself or my partner Juan will meet you at the home to check you in. I am available 24/7 via celphone to take calls. I may be working in the studio apartment above the detached garage. This space is separate and private from the home and I would not bother you. The town of Stockport had 7 active water powered mills in the 19th century which are all gone or converted to homes. It is a sleepy bedroom community and this house is secluded and apart from the town. The rapids in front of the home were used by Native Americans for fishing. Access to the creek is available if you are interested, 2 miles north in Stuyvesant falls where is the town swimming hole below the dam. OMI Art is close by, as are "The School" Jack Shainman Gallery in Kinderhook, NY. We are 10 minutes from Hudson with its art/antique shopping and restaurants. Convenient to Hudson by car (10 min./5 mi. to Greenport/Hudson shopping, 15 min./7 mi. to Warren St.) and available via Amtrak in Hudson with local taxis and Uber: Union Transport Millers Transport LLC Union Transport Columbia Transport Inc * or Enterprise Rent-a-Car with Amtrak pickup option Absolutely NO SHOES ON IN THE HOUSE so bring your slippers.
