Scorrier sits roughly in the centre of Cornwall, so all the county's attractions are within comfortable driving distance. Closer to home (3 miles) is the North Cornish coast with its world-class surfing beaches (Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, St Agnes) approx 3 miles One of Cornwall's more famous bicycle routes, the Coast-to-Coast mineral tramway, is at the bottom of our drive. This links Deveron on Cornwall's south coast with Portreath on the north. Bikes can be hired locally. This also a very good jogging route. Nearby walks and bike trails are aplenty as are beaches - the north coast for surfing and the south for sailing and fishing (Mylor Famouth) St Ives, Penzance and Mousehole. are also not far with their wonderful art and the Tate Gallery. Truro is near with its good shops and resturants. Do please ask to walk round the gardens, at their best in spring. Redruth train station is a 10 minute drive away with a direct line to London. However, a car is needed to get around the local area. Newquay Airport is about 20-30 minutes away with several flights a day to London Gatwick and other airports depending on the time of year. Breakfast is a 'DIY' affair. We will stock the kitchen with basic provisions (bread, butter, milk, tea, sugar) but the rest is up to you. The village of Scorrier has two pubs - the Fox and Hounds is a 10 minute walk down our driveway and the Plume of Feathers 5 minutes on from that. There are also excellent restaurants in St Ives and Truro (we would be happy to recommend some).
