The Handmade House is in the northern coast of São Miguel Island, in Porto Formoso's tea valley, right next to Gorreana Tea Plantation. Our strategic and central position, between Furnas and Lagoa do Fogo, makes it the perfect place to stay to explore the beauties of São Miguel, which can be easily reached from 5 to 20 mins by car. Our guest house is in front of a protected marine area and has a garden overlooking the valley, the sea and a nearby forest. The house has 278sqm and has a 300sqm garden overlooking the sea and the Porto Formoso valley. Handmade House Azores has 3 double rooms and can accommodate a maximum of 7 people (one room has triple use). The house is made up of private spaces for your exclusive use (bedrooms and bathrooms) and shared spaces for use with other guests (garden, kitchen, library and living room). The Handmade House is located in the historic center of Porto Formoso, a few steps from the colonial-style church and the most picturesque and flowery port of the island. Having been built between Lagoa do Fogo and Furnas, Porto Formoso proves to be the perfect place to stay to explore them, being 20 minutes from Lagoa do Fogo and 10 from Furnas. This village stands on a cliff overlooking the a protected marine zone, behind which rises a beautiful evergreen mountainous valley where the only organic tea plantation in Europe is grown: Porto Formoso Tea Plantation. It is a fishermen's village that lies on the promontory of Punta Formosa, in whose coves nestles the most picturesque harbour of the island, as well as one of its most suggestive and beautiful beaches, Praia dos Moinhos.
