Located in a freshly renovated modern villa in the hills above the picturesque village of Pella. The sunny 1 bedroom apartment „B&P Bed and Panorama Monte San Giulio“ is located on a sunny hillside, once a vinyard, about 100 metres above the village of Pella on the peaceful western shores of the Orta lake. It offers a unique view of the lake, the island San Giulio, the village Orta San Giulio on the opposite shore, and the Sacro Monte mountain in the background. „B&P“ was completed in summer 2014 and offers lots of room for 2 people. It also comprises a small kitchenette and a spacious bathroom. The apartment is attached directly to the owners’ villa. The terrace offers a unique view of the lake and at the same time a peaceful spot for an undisturbed sunbath in the midst of nature itself. The house can be reached via a narrow gravel road which is exclusively used by the tenants and owners. The total estate measures 2,500 m2. It is surrounded by woods and embraced by old chestnut and palm trees, hydrangea, oleander, wisteria and rose buhes – an oasis of peace and quiet, a hideaway to relax and to recuperate. On one side an ancient old stone wall borders the courtyard. Behind the house runs the old pilgrims’ path up to Monte San Giulio, a withered little chapel watches over the iron gate to the grounds. Sunflooded and stylishly furbished modern apartment. King size bed, Swedish stove, flat screen TV, stereo for MP3 devices, kitchenette for light meals, dishwasher, glass ceramic cooktop with 2 panels, kitchen sink, large glass dinig table with leather chairs, bottom to ceiling glass doors opening on the sheltered seating area facing the lake and further extending onto the gravel terrace also facing towards the lake. Large bathroom with shower/bidet/WC. Non smokers only, no pets. Access road, garden and terrace are used jointly with the owners. Separate seating area with daybed on the roof of the apartment and seating area in the former vinyard. The villa which is attached to the guests’ apartment is the owners’ main abode. The hosts know the area very well and would be happy to give advice regarding the main leisure, culinary, cultural and artistic attractions in the area. If the guests fancy hikes around Lago d’Orta or excursions to the cities of Turin or Milan and wish for a guide, the hosts will gladly accompany them. It only takes five minutes to walk down the wooded hill from the apartment into Pella. This peaceful little Italian lakeside town offers a picturesque promenade along the shore, a romantic port, small shops typical of the area such as a tabacci, a hairdresser’s, a little grocery store, restaurant „Circolo“ with delicous pizza directly from the open fire, a trattoria and a bar. Here guests can find the perfect ingredients for a relaxed day. This also includes the best ice cream around the lake, sold in the walls of a medieval defence tower, the „Torre“. Enjoy flavours such as „Gianduiotti“, „San Giulio“ or „Viola“ – violet ice cream – all home made, of course. You can also take a water taxi (until 8 pm) or the shuttle boat to the Isola San Giulio or to Orta San Giulio (eastern to october, until 7 pm), hire your personal boat or just pass the time the Italian way: „Dolce far niente“... Five minutes along the shore by car there is a little public beach where you can enjoy a swim in the lake. There are also some slipping areas for your own boat. Lago d’Orta can be reached easily by car, train or aircraft. There are good traffic connections from Switzerland (Cannobio is 52 km away from Pella), Milan (86 km), and Turin (130 km). Lago Maggiore, Lake Lugano and the vinyards of Piemont are also close by. The Ligurian Riviera with ist crystal clear waters, picturesque towns and the city of Genova are a mere 1,5 hours away by car. The international airports of Milan Malpensa (50 km) and Milan Linate (130 km) are the gateways to Lago d’Orta. Against a fee the hosts will pick you up at Milan Malpensa airport or at the train station of Gozzano. During your stay you may rent the owners’ Fiat Panda car. If you prefer to travel with your own vehicle you can park it safely in our gated grounds. The apartment „B&P Bed and Panorama Monte San Giulio“ is ideal for artists and writers who need peace and quiet to work. It is bookable also for short stays such as long weekends (from 3 days up). We welcome you in winter, too. During cool days the modern floor heating and the romantic chimney (Swedish stove) guarantees cosy warmth.
