Penny Cottage is a beautiful, homely old weaver's cottage from 1783, with original features and a peaceful and secure garden, great for dogs. Perfectly situated for exploring Fife's beaches, countryside, golf courses and historic settlements. Ceres was voted Scotland's most attractive village - there is a shop, butcher, pub and coffee shops. St Andrews and Cupar nearby. Space is perfect for 2-3, cosy for 4; Good to Go certification and deep cleaned between stays. This sunny, bright, super-clean cottage has just been refurbished, with a sparkling new kitchen and bathroom (with walk-in shower). There is a large king-size room and a snug second room for one, there is a trundle bed available but space is limited for two. A travel cot and high chair are available free of charge. There is a log-burning stove in the living room, a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, washing machine and iron/board, plus a barbecue and seating with sun umberella in the garden. The sheltered, private garden is southwest facing and is a tranquil space to relax, read or sip a glass of something good and listen to the many birds that share it. Dogs are welcome and are secure in the garden - dog dishes are also provided. Ceres has a great local pub, a Spar shop, family butcher and two coffee shops - only a step or two across the road from the cottage. The whole space is available to guests - the cottage and the garden. Dogs are welcome and the garden is completely secure. There is parking directly opposite, only a few steps from the cottage, but drop off at the door is permitted for guests requiring help with access. The cottage has all amenities, a home from home, plus log burner, walk-in shower, washing machine, oven and hob, microwave and barbecue. I am self-employed and live nearby; Covid-19 protocols advise using the keysafe; but I am happy to meet you on arrival if I am available. Ceres is a historic village in the heart of Fife, close to beaches, golf courses and historic places to visit like St Andrews, Falkland and the East Neuk fishing villages. There are handy local ammenities - a great local pub, a Spar shop, family butcher and two coffee shops - a good bus service and beautiful countryside - perfect for walks with doggie friends. Fife has a network of rural roads and so driving is fairly easy but make sure to plan your route first. There are good bus services and stations in nearby Cupar and Leuchars and also Ladybank and Markinch. There are many walks, whether you fancy the beach, the hills, a 'den' through the woods or a National Trust for Scotland gem, like Hill of Tarvit. The cottage is self-catering only for guests full use, and not bed-and-breakfast. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and is ideally set up for 3 adults, or for 2 adults and 2 children (under 12). Parking is directly opposite the cottage but drop off at the door is permitted for guests requiring help with access. Please respect neighbours. Young children must be supervised in the garden. Pets very welcome but not on beds/furniture. Central heating schedule is set and there is a log burner available - if extra heating is required an extra charge can be arranged before arrival. Log burner is wood only - NO paper or coal or wet wood; a purchase of extra wood can be agreed before arrival. Hot water needs to be run slowly (not shower) for hot water to come through. Sensitive plumbing, flush only toilet paper. Use of electricity out with 4 walls of house not permitted for insurance purposes - local area has good supply of vehicle battery charging points. Property keys - if lost, lock replacement will be due.
