Le Moulin de Chazotte (whole house)
We are a 16th century French watermill offering beautiful, family friendly self catering holiday accommodation. Our four exclusive gites are brimming with charm and character whilst offering all the modern comforts and facilities to ensure you have a relaxing and rewarding holiday. We can accommodate up to 20 people across all four gites and also have a large barn, 12 acres of grounds and facilities and a large swimming pool for your exclusive use (summer season only). By renting Le Moulin exclusively, you will have access to all four gites which comprise a total of 9 bedrooms (5 double beds, 6 single beds and 4 bunk beds as well as several cots which can be setup for babies if required). You will also have exclusive use of the gardens, onsite activities and of course, our gorgeous swimming pool. All gites are clean, bright, beautifully decorated and with all the mod cons needed for a comfortable stay. Each gite has its own kitchen, dining area, sitting room, TV, private terrace with barbecue and free WIFI throughout. Our aim is for you to completely relax at the Moulin so we have equipped each gite with everything you need to feel totally at home during your holiday. We welcome children of all ages and are able to offer free baby and child equipment enabling you to travel light and not have to bring "everything but the kitchen sink" on holiday with you. The pool is without a doubt our biggest attraction for young and old alike but particularly for children. At 12 metres by 6 metres, the pool is beautifully cool in summer but can be heated and lit for evenings or the later summer months. With a shallow end and deep end plus steps down to access. The pool house features a toilet and changing room and there is a solar shower and ample loungers for you to while away the day here. The pool is about 50 metres from the gites and is completely private with views across the vineyards and to the village of Cherves-Richemont on the hillside. Guests are also free to roam the 12 acres of land that adjoin the mill - from bird and wildlife spotting in the woods, canoeing on the river, tractor driving, to playing a group game of rounders on the open field. In addition to the "great outdoors" we also have a number of activities to keep the whole family entertained - darts, table tennis, table football, children’s swings, pétanque to name but a few. For the social butterflies amongst you, we often host group barbecues, drinks and outdoor cinema nights so you can come along and get to know the other guests. Hosts live on site to provide 24 hour support and help if needed (but we also know when to keep our distance). Located in blissful rural tranquility within the Poitou-Charente region on the French Atlantic coast, we are only 10 minutes away from historic Cognac and a short drive to the nearest village with that all important local boulangerie. This picturesque region is steeped in Roman and Medieval history and is known for its sleepy villages, Romanesque churches, heritage towns, as well as for the famous and delicious Cognac drink of course.
