Situated in the stunning Chew Valley, quiet rural location, with south facing views to the Mendip Hills. The Piggery is part of a Somerset farmhouse, with its own entrance, 2 comfortable bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) tea, coffee, milk provided. Relax in our wild seating area, the perfect spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine. 10 mins drive to Bristol airport, (not on the flight path) and 20 mins to Clifton, Bristol, and 30-40 mins to North Somerset coastline and beach. There is a small outside seating area approached through the farm gate, take the cushions and parasol from the hall, a glass of wine, relax and enjoy one of our spectacular Somerset uninterrupted sunsets! The area outside the Piggery front door is a shared farm drive. Occasionally the owner of Swallows Barn will walk through the gate to access the fields. If a tractor needed access we would ensure you were notified in advance. Your access to the seating area is through the farm gate. Melissa, is around every morning and evening for any help or advice. Even though we are situated in rural North Somerset it is hard to believe that Bristol Airport is only 10 mins drive away! We are not on the flight path but you may hear some plane noise depending which way the wind is! The Crown pub is half a mile walk away, a great pint of Thatchers cider and local beers, delicious pub food. A Spar at Winford Garage 5 minute drive, Chew Magna 8 minute drive with the Bear and Swan, The Pelican and the Lazy Lobster across the road, we are spoilt for choice, also a Co Op, post office, Moondance coffee shop. Yeo Valley Organic Garden in Blagdon is only a 20 minute drive, also enjoy a walk at Blagdon Lake. Salt and Malt serve the best fish and chips at Chew Valley Lake. Cheddar Gorge 30 minutes Bath 45 minutes. Clifton in Bristol, 20 minutes. Weston Super Mare for the beach 45 minutes and Clevedon with the recently voted Pier of the Year is 45 minutes. Take a walk to the village of Regil down charming country lanes, although no pub or shop there, it does have a tiny church, worth a peek! Lots of cycling available. You can walk through fields to Chew Stoke and grab a coffee or more from Chew Kitchen. A car is essential, we have parking for two cars. Buses to Bristol and other destinations can be found at Bristol International Airport which is 10 minutes away. Ubers will come here too. We have parking for one car and we can park another car in the private drive of Hounsley Farm. Please ensure when parking that you park up to the hedge next to the wall .
