With a large terrace and private, well established garden the house enjoys views of both the sea, the town of San Vito on the hill and the mountains in the distance. There are lots of pleasant walks in the vicinity and is central to numerous beaches, restaurants and places of interest, abbeys, churches and mountain villages. The house is an independent property located next to the owner's villa. It is surrounded by a large garden and olive grove. The garden is full of plants and flowers including 26 types of old fashioned roses, lavender, rosemary, lantana and hibiscus. Guests are welcome to use the garden which is also designed to be safe for children and includes a swing, place to play ball games and children's tennis. The only place that is out of bounds is the vegetable garden and the orchard. There is parking for more than 1 car if necessary. I will be available throughout your stay to answer any questions or deal with any problems you may have. The house is situated only five minutes away from the beach in a quiet position in the middle of olives and vines. It enjoys a view of both the sea, the picturesque town of San Vito on the hill opposite and the mountains in the distance. There are a lot of pleasant walks in the vicinity and the nearest towns are San Vito and Ortona where there are a variety of shops and a large supermarket. San Vito is a pretty little town perched on a promontory overlooking miles of coast. It has an interesting festival in the middle of July called Calalenta based on local products, especially fish, organized by the local chapter of Slow Food ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) You can buy local products, eat street food or organize a meal on one of the old fishing machines called Trabocchi which are so characteristic of this part of the Adriatic coast. The feast of San Vito is celebrated between 14-16 June and the feast of the Madonna del Porto takes place at the end of July. The statue of the Madonna is carried from the church and accompanied by numerous small boats is taken in a procession along the coast with the priest blessing everyone along the way. All this is accompanied by dancing and music in the evening and an impressive firework display. Almost every weekend in the summer there is a firework display visible from the terrace as each little village celebrates its patron saint. Ortona too is well worth a visit and although very heavily damaged during the last war the castle on the cliffs in the centre of the town has been preserved and the quiet streets around the church of S. Tommaso are very pleasant to stroll along. The area has numerous pleasant beaches both pebble and sandy and an abundance of interesting restaurants and places to eat. In the vicinity are a number of towns, abbeys and churches of great historical and architectural interest. Mountain excursions are also within reasonable distance. There is a train station near the marina at San Vito and from there you can reach Pescara which has links to all main cities in Italy. However, a car is really needed.
