Holiday Villa with Stunning Views
Kick back in the large private yard after an active day in the mountains. Fire up the grill and open a bottle of local wine. The villa is a farmhouse dating back to 1837 and has been meticulously restored with all the modern conveniences. The house is located in a small hamlet on a sunny south slope at 700m elevation. The 2,000 square meter private yard wraps around the house and offers wide views across the valley. The 19th century building has a high monumental status featuring many typical architectural details. The house has three levels. The upper level has a 70 square meter open floor plan with a connected living and dining/kitchen area. From here you will access the backyard. The middle level features 2 bedrooms (queen size beds) with en-suite bathrooms, one bedroom with a bunk bed and a wash room. The lower level has one bedroom (queen size bed) with en-suite bathroom with tub and separate shower and 2 single beds in the vaulted basement passage way (with window). All bathrooms have a rain shower, a toilet and a vanity sink. Centrally located in the main valley, it is easy to venture out in all directions. Within 10 minutes drive there are 3 villages where you can get your daily essentials and have a few restaurants. The historic town of Aosta is a 20 minutes drive. Here you will find a large variety of shops and restaurants. Also, from Aosta you can take the cablecar up to Pila (el. 1800m). Great for hiking and downhill biking is summer and a respectable ski resort in winter. Other ski resorts in the valley include places like Courmayeur (Mont Blanc), Cervinia (Matterhorn) and La Thuile. Get yourself the "Valle d'Aosta skipass" to try all! Other popular activities in the valley are mountaineering & rafting. The valley has a rich cultural heritage dating back to the roman times. It is dotted with historic castles and churches. To soak up more Italian culture, Turin is a one hour drive and Milan a one and a half hour drive. Closest airport is Turin Caselle Also within reach are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate and Geneva Though there is a bus stop not far from the house, the timetable is very infrequent. In short, you need a car or motorcycle to get around.
