Granny's pLace - perfect base to explore Slovenia

A family friendly apartment with special character. While all the rooms are equipped with modern furniture and appliances, the décor has been inspired by a traditional Slovenian hand craft – lace. The apartment is away from all the hustle and bustle, located in a small peaceful village in Poljanska valley, surrounded by beautiful green hills and meadows and just 4 km from a picture-perfect mediaeval town Škofja Loka. The apartment can be ideal base for you to discover the rest of Slovenia. The apartment is part of a pleasant house which was built in the 80s with traditional Gorenjska region style. It is accessible through a shared main entrance and gentle stairs leading to a private entrance on the second floor. The apartment is of 80 m² size. There is a vegetable and fruit garden next to the house. The host will be happy to offer any home grown vegetables, berries and grapes if desired by guests. Most of the time, your host Boštjan will not be available on the spot due to commitments abroad. Nevertheless, his mother, a co-host, lives on the first floor of the house and will be available for guests at all times. The neighborhood is ideal for walking, biking or just relaxing in peaceful countryside. The region around the apartment is one of the best places in Europe to explore lace making and its history. Idrija, world-famous for its heritage in lace making and mercury mines (UNESCO) is just 37 km away. Other distances: Kranj (15 km), Ljubljana (25 km), Bled (40 km), Soča valley (60 km), Postojna caves (75 km). The main Slovenian airport (Brnik) is located just 21 km away. Not to mention the closely located skiing resorts Stari vrh, Cerkno, Soriška planina and Krvavec. Other parts of Slovenia are also easily and quickly accessible. The best way to get in-out from our place is by private transportation. Driving through the Poljanska valley, surrounded by beautiful green hills, is very relaxing. Another option is by public bus. The closest bus stop is just 200 m from the house. Best way to explore the neighborhood is by foot or bike. There are nice walking and bicycle paths around. Many locals love to walk towards St. Lovrenc church (550 m) which is just 30 minutes from Granny's pLace. A bit further uphill, there is also a popular Lubnik (1025 m), with amazing views over the surrounding mountains and valleys.
