Watch the sun set over the Menai Strait from your private balcony, accessed from the large first-floor open-plan kitchen and living space. This cherished family holiday home is situated on a picturesque marina in the charming village of Y Felinheli within easy reach of the mountains of Snowdonia, the beaches of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula and the many other tourist attractions North Wales has to offer. This house makes a great base for couples, families or groups of friends of all ages to experience the mountains, beaches, outdoor pursuits and wildlife of North Wales. Guests have full use of the house. It is situated on a private estate with shared gardens and plenty of parking for residents. I live in London so won't be around to meet guests but will always be contactable via phone, text or email. There is also a site manager on the estate. Y Felinheli village is a yachting centre halfway between the city of Caernarfon and the university town of Bangor. The bypass ensures that there is no through traffic, and the locality is lovely and peaceful. The Gardd Fon pub, which serves good food, is a short walk away at the other end of the village. The Swellies café on the marina is a great spot for breakfast, lunch and coffee. La Marina offers quality lunch and dinner options, and there is a hair and beauty salon next door. There is a good general store (groceries, papers, off-licence, post office) at the far end of Bangor Street (the main street in the middle of the village), with a fish and chip shop/Chinese takeaway almost next door. Further afield there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in Bangor, Caernarfon, Llanberis, Menai Bridge town and Anglesey. There is plenty of parking on the estate. Spots are not reserved so you can park as close as you can to the house. Bangor train station is a few miles away and has direct connections through Chester and all the way to London Euston. There are a number of local bus services in the village, serving destinations including Bangor, Caernarfon and Llanberis. This house has been our family holiday home for forty years and we have had many wonderful times here. My parents still visit and enjoy walking in Snowdonia and on the coastal paths on Anglesey. My sister and I now enjoy reliving childhood holidays with our own young families. The house is comfortable, clean and well-equipped (including brand new bathroom (November 2018), wifi and washer-dryer); not luxurious, but if you're looking for a reasonably-priced getaway in a stunning part of the world then this could be just the place for you. We hope you love it as much as we do! Please be aware that there is no tv and we do not have a licence.
