The house in yellow will welcome you with colored windows. In the house you find a comfortable bed (cm 152 x cm 203) for two adults, and in a common space there are two other single beds (cm 82 x cm 196) where kids can find their place. Upon the house walls are hanging paintings of a middle-eastern locale and two, now tired, boats are resting on the canal overlooking the underlying lagoon. The house is close to all the essential services, shops, bars, restaurants, and the ferry boat stop. The house is ideal for three/four adults or a family of two adults with 2 kids. The house is spread out over three floors, with approximately 55 square meters. Ground Floor: large kitchen with a fire place, used as a place for cooking; bathroom with shower/bidet/wc-toilet and washer basin. First Floor: living room with two couches (in style), stylish wardrobe, and two windows overlooking the lagoon below; A stairway leads to the loft level, an open room and slightly sloping, with a window onto the canal; it has a standard-size bed (cm 152 x cm 203) and an old Venetian boat (a marotta) placed on the floor. In the attic right above is placed an old and picturesque Indonesian boat, framed on the pavement. The house is entirely at your disposal. I won't be in the house during your stay. The district is adjacent to the historical center, vivacious and over the corner of a canal, quiet and livened by the colored walls of the house. Sitting inside the house and watching the boats pass by on the canal and the tourists on foot, give in and let the lagoon cuddle you in its slow tidal movement. 1) Some information for getting to the island of Burano, a) If arriving by plane from MARCO POLO-VENICE Airport, you have 2 options: the first is to take the VAPORETTO - BLU LINE in the direction of ALILAGUNA, getting off at Fondamente Nove, cross the Fondamente Nove bridge off to your right and take the BURANO - LINE 12 (at night it becomes LINEA NOTTURNO LAGUNA NORD). It will take about 45 minutes to get to Burano. The second option is to take a bus to Piazzale Roma, then vaporetto number 4.2 or 5.2 going to Fondamente Nove, then crossing the bridge to Fondamente Nove (on your right) to BURANO - LINEA 12 (at night it becomes LINEA NOTTURNO LAGUNA NORD) (it will take about 45 minutes to get to Burano). b) If arriving at the VENEZIA-SANTA LUCIA train station: Once you leave the station, while looking at the lagoon of VENEZIA - CANAL GRANDE, you have to go left for about 100 meters (~328.084 feet) along the Canal and you will see a bridge (Ponte degli Scalzi), to the left of the bridge there is the Vaporetto stop number 4.2 and 5.2 going to Fondamente Nove, once at Fondamente Nove, then crossing the bridge to Fondamente Nove (on your right) to BURANO - LINEA 12 (at night it becomes LINEA NOTTURNO LAGUNA NORD) (it will take about 45 minutes to get to Burano). 2) Once you get to BURANO you must follow these instructions: from the exit of the vaporetto, follow the people towards the end and take the perpendicular road to the water station, entering a street called via di Mazzorbo, and after about 50 meters (~164.042 feet) you will be on the canal (and from there you will see the yellow house on the opposite side -- that is the house). Take a left till the first brick bridge, cross it, and then take a right to the corner of the yellow house: green wooden door, number 908. Various tips: a) Before taking the vaporetto, it is always best to ask where it is headed to. b) Another important thing: a single VAPORETTO ride costs about €6.50. Therefore, coming to Venice, it is best to look up ticket options for public transportation ("Principali Tariffe"), and choose the best for you, according to your needs (transportation within Venice and to the islands of MURANO and BURANO, visiting museums, etc.). c) I also recommend that when you're in BURANO, go to two restaurants near my house close to the brick bridge that offer good quality and prices. d) If you are in Piazza San Marco and want to go back to BURANO (or vice versa), you have to go towards the lagoon after the Doge's Palace (to the left), continue until you get to the stop, S. MARCO - SAN ZACCARIA – PIETA’ (very close to the Hotel METROPOLE). From here, the VAPORETTO leaves for LIDO - PUNTA SABBIONI (in Punta Sabbioni, change to TREPORTI - BURANO (it will take about 70 minutes in total) The vaporetto line is - LINEA 14 - 15.
