Twin beds room in a family run B&B, located in an ancient 13th century tower, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards with peaceful garden and plenty of artworks, being home of a sculptor. Located on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, at about 20 km from Cortona and Montepulciano, and 10 km from lake Trasimeno, it is also easily connected to the best itineraries of this wonderful part of Italy: Siena, Arezzo, the Orcia Valley, Pienza and Montalcino, Perugia, Orvieto and many more... The room has twin beds, and a spacious bathroom with shower. The B&B is family run and has a total of 4 rooms available for the guests. Its oldest part comes from the Middle Age, and it is known that Santa Margherita, the patron saint of Cortona, lived here in the XIII century. The little chapel is still a holy place. The owner is a sculptor and you can see his artwork everywhere in the house. The property is surrounded by the most enchanting Tuscan landscape, with olive groves and vineyards, just a short drive from the beautiful towns of Cortona, Montepulciano and lake Trasimeno. A small village is just one km away, with a convenience store and a bar. The family will be pleased to show you the amazing view from the tower and will help you book the typical trattoria which is not on the guide books yet or the small local producer where to buy Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or the best pecorino cheese. Extra services on request to be booked in advance: Traditional Tuscan breakfast with local products, Tuscan dinner on the tower, aperitifs with sparkling wine "just for two" on the tower (honeymoon special), cooking lesson followed by dinner: learn to make Pici, the local home made pasta! The B&B is located in the house, but with a private entrance and separate from the owners' apartment. The 4 rooms for the guests, all with en suite bathrooms, are on the first floor and share a sitting room with art books and literature about the territory, free wifi. On the ground floor the breakfast room (for the Italian breakfast included in the room rate), a large hall with a piano, and a peaceful garden for the guests to sit and relax, with a BBQ and tables and chairs to have breakfast outside. The family lives in the house (the atmosphere is informal and relaxed, this is not a hotel!) and it is available to give you information about the area, suggesting the best itineraries and excursions, and ready to help you book restaurants, wine tastings or any other activities. Massimo is a sculptor and you can see him working in his workshop and possibly also carve a piece of olive wood together! Italian breakfast is included in the room rate and, on request, Antonella can prepare for you (at an extra charge) a traditional Tuscan breakfast with local products or atuscan dinner on the tower , an aperitifs for two (honeymooners special) or organize an informal cooking lesson followed by dinner: learn to make Pici, the local home made pasta! Please ask in advance This is a very strategic location, exactly halfway between Cortona and Montepulciano, at a short drive from lake Trasimeno. Very easy to reach (18 km from A1 Rome- Florence motorway, exit Valdichiana), it can be a perfect starting point for daily excursions as well as a relaxing place for some peaceful time in the countryside or a stop while on the way between Rome and Florence . At one km a small village with a convenience store, at 2 km a family run trattoria and an agriturismo for farm dinners. No air conditioning but fans in the rooms. Wifi free of charge. We are a licenced B&B and need to register our guests, so please provide your passport or id at check in.
