My Little Home, away from Home...

The Love of Travel runs through my lovely little house in a quiet village, 15 minutes from town by bus. Ideally suited for the single traveller, couples & those who work away from home. I love meeting people from different cultures & discovering new places, will be available for any advice/help throughout your stay through the relevant mediums. A Lovely Victorian Mid - Terraced House on the main road in the village. You will find a Cosy Lounge, spacious Kitchen and a Bathroom on the ground floor with guest room on first floor Has own drive and back garden with patio, so if driving you would be welcome to leave your car on the Drive. Guests will be able to watch movies with their own tv with built in Dvd player. You will also be sharing the bathroom, free towels will be provided along with bathroom essentials. Will recommend where to eat and drink in Nottingham, sights to see and can provide maps etc. Discount given for weekly/monthly and short stays upon request. Guests will have access to the Lounge, Bathroom, Kitchen and the back Garden I love meeting new people from all over, am happy to chat over dinner /evenings in and at the same time happy to give plenty of space throughout your stay. I work in retail so shifts are different each week but will be available throughout your stay via Phone/ (Hidden by Airbnb) . Colwick is a lovely little village which has a Country Park that's home to rich diverse wildlife, Colwick Racecourse ( Horses/ Greyhounds ) and it's own Primary School that houses a Short 360 aircraft which is used as a classroom. Netherfield shops ( Post Office, Co-op Supermarket, cafes, bar and numerous takeaways ) and train station ( takes you to either Grantham or Nottingham City ) are less than 10 mins walk away, Victoria Retail Park is home to a variety of retail therapy places including Morrisons Supermarket, M&S Foodhall, Costa, B&M Bargains, TKMAxx, Argos & B&Q, Lidl and KFC for the foodies. There is also a Toby Carvery on the main road, less than 10 walk. Colwick Park is a beautiful Country Park to walk around with it's 2 lakes covering 89 acres between them. Stunning in the summer but equally mesmerizing in the Autumn with the changing colours of the leaves. The West Lake at Colwick Country Park is home to the Nottingham City Open Water Swimming Centre from April to October each year. Organised swimming sessions, with lifeguards present, take place on Wednesday evenings at 6pm and Saturday afternoons at 2pm. Sports - Notts County & Nottingham Forest Football Grounds, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground are all 3miles away. Easily accessible by walk & bus. Theatre Royal and Concert Hall in town for shows/ concerts. Cornerhouse Complex with various restaurants and Cineworld, along with Victoria Shopping Centre in the city centre, all just 3 miles away. There are also 2 corner shops/ newsagents just minutes away from my front door and a cob shop that does hot food at lunch time during the week as well as Cobs/Sandwiches/ Breakfast Cobs/ Jacket Potatoes East Midlands Airport is less than an hours bus ride into the City via the Skylink or if you are travelling by car, 30/45mins. No.44 Bus route into Nottingham City Centre/ Gedling ( stop opposite the school and passes through sneinton and takes 15/20 mins ) which are every 10 mins Mon - Sat ( before 6pm ) then every 20/30 mins and 30/60 mins on Sundays or the No.50 that goes straight into the city from Victoria Retail Park( nearest stop opposite the Toby Carvery ) Pleasant walk into town ( 45 mins ) passing another retail park with Aldi, Poundland and Smyths Toy Store and another KFC for that mid walk fuel stop. Nottingham Train station is less than 10 mins away from Netherfield Train Station, where you can then go exploring other major cities. Cycles are available to rent through Nottinghamshire County Council. There are also Wind E-Scooters available, with various locations around Nottingham. Breakfast on offer - Cereal, Bread/Toast and Eggs, Tea & Coffee Guests will have the use of Herbs & Spices, Oil, Pasta and Rice There is also a slow cooker available to use in the Kitchen and recipe books. Guests will also have access to a BBQ. The Heating/ Hot Water is controlled by the Combi Boiler, which is in my room. Gas and Electric are on prepayment meters, so will be set to come on at certain times of the day/ evening or when needed.
