Rural & river views, hot tub & 10 min walk to town
Welcome to Dorothy's Rock, a beautiful countryside getaway with scenic river views. Soak in a 7-seater hot tub and enjoy the rural vista - the perfect post-lockdown remedy. Dog-friendly - £20 fee. Tenbury Wells is 10 min walk. The annex has a private entrance with a kitchen, shower room and bedroom, with a double bed + single day bed, with a pull out trundle, perfect for kids. I live in the adjoining property with my two dogs. I am on hand if you need me, and also give guests the privacy too. The house was built in 2010, replacing an old farm cottage that used to be on the land. The guest annex has its own entrance and is on the ground floor, offering single-level living. Guests have their own private shower room/toilet, and kitchen. The kitchen includes an oven, 2-burber electric hob, under-counter fridge, kettle, toaster and attached egg-maker. The room includes a double bed and single day bed with a single pull out trundle. The room also has a small drop-leaf table. There is an internal door that separates the annex from the main house to give guests privacy. Please be aware, I do live at the property, so if you're looking for a completely secluded, this accommodation wouldn't be suitable. Guests can enjoy their own privacy, but I am also social too, abiding by COVID social distancing regulations. There is an outdoor seating area where guests can enjoy beautiful views, it's a great spot to sit and enjoy the vista and wonderful sounds of the countryside. There is an outdoor 7-seater hot tub which guests can use all year round. There is also a seating area on the River Teme. It's a great spot for fishing - if you want to bring fishing gear, you will need a fly fishing rod and weights. Previous guests have caught Grayling, Chubb and Brown Trout, and I've been told there is Salmon in the river too. I work from home and work on the farm, so I'm available for guests should you need anything during your stay. I am social but we're also happy to let guests enjoy their privacy. I can recommend places to visit, restaurants or activities during your stay. I'm from the UK, after years of living in cities and being office-based, I decided to escape city-living and enjoy the beautiful English countryside. Tenbury Wells is a charming market town with cafes, pubs, shops, beauty salons and a Tesco. The River Teme runs through the town, forming the Worcestershire/Shropshire border. Set in the Malvern Hills, ramblers can enjoy the many hikes and walking trails around the area. Tenbury has a tourist information centre. In the annex there are tourist leaflets for places to visit, things to do in the area, and takeaway menus for local fast food businesses. The best way to get about is by car. It's only a short 10-minute walk to Tenbury Wells from the house. There are regular buses that go to Worcester, Bewdley and Kidderminster. Ludlow and Leominster are the closest train stations to Tenbury Wells. There are lots of walking trails and hikes in the area, especially at Clee Hill which is a 15-minute drive from Tenbury. For those who horse ride, Mortimer forest has a network bridleways with long stretches of forest tracks. I have two dogs - Bailey who is a Springer Spaniel and Leila who is a Cocker Spaniel cross King Charles. They live in the main property with me and they are very friendly and well-behaved. I also have two farm kittens - Lynx and Panther - they are very friendly and love being patted. If they try to go into the annex during your stay, please put them back outside as they are farm cats. For business travellers - I will ensure the animals here will not disturb your stay. I also have 26 ducks on the paddock. Please feel free to go down and visit the ducks during your stay, close gates behind you as you enter and leave the paddock. If you have a dog with you, please keep them on a lead while visiting the ducks.
