Guesthouse on a family organic farm

The cozy guesthouse is part of our organic farm Karhulka situated in a beautiful countryside at the foot of a czech mystical mountain Blaník. Karhule is tiny village "at the end of the world" where you can easily find a rest for your body and peace of mind, far away from the chaotic city pace of life. Unspoilt nature, forests loaded with porcini mushrooms, organic veggies from our farm, hiking and biking routes etc. Our place works great for singles, couples, families or smaller groups. English translation update coming soon Recently newly furnished spacious apartment (80 sq.m./860 sq.f.) in a tastefully remodeled, several hundred yrs old farm house at the charming czech countryside. In the attic bedroom (40 sq.m./430sq.f.), there are 2 beds (they can work either as 2 single beds or 1 double bed). All the bedroom furniture (2 beds, 2 nightstands, 2 big wardrobes and 1 dressing table with a mirror) was carefully hand-restored and painted with crackle technique. There are also 2 beds for the little guests + option to add 2 more extra beds (double air mattress). The blackout roller blinds on the roof windows provide absolute darkness = great sleep therapy! :-) Downstairs in the living area, there is a comfy 3 seat sofa and nice firm sofa bed for 2 people. The kitchen with a dining table is fully equipped - there is everything you might need (electric oven, gas stove top, microwave oven, fridge, electric kettle, french press, toaster, all the basic dishes, cookware and silverware, composting and recycling facilities, retro radio with bluetooth etc. ) with the only exception of a dish washer. Downstairs, there is also a bathroom with a bathtub and a shower corner, as well as a separate toilet with a sink. Fresh bath towels, towels, shampoo, bath salt/bubbles, soap, toilet paper etc. are part of the service. Wifi internet access goes without saying. In the living room area, there is newly installed Epson projector with a screen and a stereo surround speakers for your nice evening movie experience or bed time story for the kids. For the little ones there is also a small patine table with 2 chairs, stool in the bathroom and at the toilet, we are also able to provide a high chair and a portable bathtub for small babies etc. In the apartment, there are board games, books, dvds, wicker basket full of tips for trips in the neighbourhood at your disposal. English translation update coming soon Its possible to enjoy the outdoors barbecue area + Mr. Weber ;-) grill. For longer stays the guests can take advantage of our washer & dryer. Parking at the farm premises, bikes etc. storage in our garage. We speak fluently czech + english :-), we can make ourselves understood en francais and also un poco espaňol. We are located in the Blaník National Park on the edge of 3 regions - Central Bohemia, South Bohemia and Vysočina, half way between Prague and Brno, in the heart of Czech country. In our neighborouhood, there are plenty of interesting natural and cultural sights - the historical city of Tabor nearby, several chateaus like Vlašim, Konopiště, Jemniště, Zruč nad Sázavou, Ratměřice renaissance chateau has been newly remodeled and recently open for public, medieval castle Český Šternberk and much more. In order to scale the mystical Blaník mt./hill (638 m above sea level), get ready for leisurly 1 hour hike mostly through the forest. The view point at the peak is open all year round as well as the refreshment shop. Few people know there are actually 2 Blaník mountains - the above mentioned Big Blaník but he has a less famous brother Small Blaník with an impressive remains of St.Mary´s chaple with a huge spruce called "Big Monk" growing in the middle of the ruins. As for foods, in a nearby village of Kondrac, except for a romanesque church of St.Bartholomew from 12th century, there is also a restaurant U Matoušků with a typical czech cuisine and its renowned schnitzels with potato salad. Small pub in Načeradec (Načeradská hospůdka) has also its charm, good food and interesting special offers every now and then. On our farm, its possible and very welcome for you to buy/pick a seasonal fresh veggies and other products from our little manufacture. In our village, its no problem to find/buy a hand-made natural cosmetics and various treasures from a herbal medicine chest, goat milk and home-made cheeses, local free-range chicken/quail eggs, honey etc. At the end of our village, there is a yurt where a petite young woman with a big heart is running a hospice for old doggies. There is a bike route right outside our farm "embracing" the mountain and the whole Blaník National Park area. The forest of about 15 mins walk from us. There is a bus stop in our village (about 200m away) and we also offer pick up/drop off from/to nearby town of Vlašim (bus + train station). Prague is 70 km away from us so its very well possible to plan for a day trip to our capital. Its about an hour bus ride from Vlašim to Prague suburbs. The train takes 15 mins longer to the Prague city center. By care you can get the the Prague city center (Wenceslas square) in 60 mins if the "D1 highway gods" are in good mood :-) English translation update coming soon How about starting your day with our yummy breakfast from local goodies that we will happily prepare for you for additional charge CZK 150,- per person. Fresh coffee served to your liking (espresso, cappucino, latté) made from freshly roasted & ground beans or tea from fresh garden herbs (mint, lemon balm etc.) or hot chocolate/cocoa for your kids are part fo the breakfast. We are dutifully recycling all of our waste, incl. biowaste. For longer stays (2 weeks & more) a discount is possible upon request.
