Our cosy garden cottage with bedsit, kitchen-diner and log-stove is the ideal base for exploring the Trossachs/Loch Lomond, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Located in scenic, rural Kippen, we are a 5 minute walk from shops, deli, cafe and an award winning gastro-pub! The village was listed as on of the 20 best villages in Britain in the The Times newspaper (March 13 2017) . Dalveen Garden Cottage is a lovely ground floor apartment. Large french windows provide lots of natural light in this well-insulated, converted out -building, that dates from the 1920s. The cottage is very warm and cosy being connected to a biomass supplied central heating and having a log stove in the bed-sitting room itself. A spacious kitchen-diner allows you to prepare your own food. The cottage is located in extensive gardens, next to the owner's house. Dimensions: Bed-sit: 6.50m x 2.90m Kitchen-diner: 4.90m x 2.90m Bathroom: 2.90m x 1.50m The Bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet & small sink. Guests have access to a private terrace outside the cottage that gets afternoon sun. The kitchen has a cooker/hob/ microwave/ kettle/ iron/ toaster/ dishwasher and fridge. Guests have access to a washing machine and freezer on request. The bed-sit has two single beds. Sheets and towels are provided. The TV is located in the bed-sit. Off-road parking is available on the property. A baby travel cot can be provided on request - no extra charge. Tea, instant coffee, sugar, soap & dish towels are provided. We are happy to advise guests on our lovely area. Kippen is a really friendly village a great place to live. Its situated on the border of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park and has easy access to all sorts of outdoors activities within a short drive. Alternatively there are many scenic walks within the village and environs. Kippen is a real community with an award winning busy gastropub that attract locals and customers from outside the village alike. We have also become a bit of a foodie hub with a deli/coffee shop in the village (Rhubarb and Lime) and the Woodhouse coffee and farm shop & award winning family butcher on the edge of the village. Additionally we have a post office/general store in the village. The pub stocks a range of beers including those made by Kippen's own micro brewery - Fallen brewery. Kippen is an ideal base for outdoor activities like hill walking, golfing, kayaking, cycling, open water swimming, tennis and many more. Whiskey distilleries as well as many of Scotland's historic sites and museums are within easy reach. Many overseas visitors choose to hire a car to get around however and there are many companies offering car hire from both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. The railway and coach stations in Stirling are 10 miles away and the First Bus No 10/12/C12 connects Kippen to Stirling and Glasgow via Balfron. We have several pets and we welcome 1 well behaved pet with responsible owners.
