Canonteign Cottage: Hidden gem in Dartmoor.

We are ideally suited to families and extended family groups. Lovely cottage in the grounds of Canonteign Falls. Idyllic location set in Dartmoor National Park. Sleeps 8. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, eat in kitchen with table to seat 8, living area with tv, and wifi. Reading snug and additional seating area with table and chairs. Large entrance hall. Outdoor table and chairs, sun loungers around heated swimming pool and 6 person jacuzzi (both seasonal). The house is set within the grounds of Canonteign Falls, entrance to which is included in the rental. Explore the waterfalls and parklands along with a great cafe and lovely gift shop. Canonteign Cottage is an ideal base for exploring Devon, 30 mins from the coast, 50 mins from Plymouth, 25 mins into Exeter. 10 mins from supermarket and amenities and 5 mins from a local village shop. The guest have access to Canonteign Cottage and it's grounds. During opening hours the guests also have unlimited access to Canonteign Falls. I live on the estate so can be reached pretty much 24/7 although between office hours is usually better. Staying within Dartmoor National Park provides a peaceful escape from all hustle and bustle with the convenience of the A38 a 7 min drive and the A30 a 10 min drive you are centrally located. Surrounded by small villages and amazing local pubs there are some real treasures to be found, not least the cafe at Canonteign Falls ( open March through October) boasting local, fresh homemade cooking with emphasis on food quality and healthy eating. Selection of cakes is rather good too and Origin coffee is wonderful. The whole of Dartmoor is on your doorstep with great walks in every direction. There are a host of beaches all around 30-45 mins away, including Teignmouth, Exmouth and Torquay. During the Summer Canonteign Falls hosts some weddings within the Estate. These are on a Saturday and finish at midnight. There have been no complaints from guests at Canonteign cottage re noise or disturbance and we don't forsee any problems. The swimming pool and hot tub are seasonal and are available from Easter until the end of September, unless by prior arrangement.
