Immersed in the green and off the usual tourist circuit, but still only a stone’s throw away from the beauty of Lake Orta and Mottarone - our home is an ancient farmhouse, recently renovated, with a captivating view of the lake and surrounding hills. The environment is familiar and calm. We are equipped to accommodate children and your pets are also welcome... The apartment is composed of a large double room (possibility to add 1 single bed and/or a smaller children's bed), a private bathroom, a room with a small kitchen with a single sofa bed. Upon request a second double room can be connected, with its private bathroom. The area is sunny and quiet, surrounded by beech and chestnut trees, and high on the hill to welcome lots of natural light. It’s the ideal base for exploring Orta, from calm, relaxing walks to long hikes through the wilderness. Locally you can find fresh organic food. In our home we attempt to live a sustainable and minimal waste lifestyle. We do so by utilizing various methods such as composting, dehydrating fruits and vegetables, eating local produce and products, incorporating solar energy into our home, recycling and reusing packaging and materials as well as growing herbs, fruits and vegetables in our small gardens. We encourage our guests to enjoy such a lifestyle while staying with us. There are also two sheep, two sweet donkeys and a lovely little dog living with us on the property and we are happy to include you in our farm life or leave you alone to enjoy your privacy. All rooms are situated on the first floor, each with a separate entrance reached via a long wooden balcony. The balcony benefits from afternoon sun since it is facing south-west which also provides a great location to appreciate the stunning view. Guests are invited to use our large garden, equipped with chairs and tables for lunches - or enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and view. It’s an environment where children can play freely and develop a relationship with nature. On foot, a 15 minute walk brings you to the quaint little town of Armeno or 40 minutes down to Pettenasco and to the lake shore. 4 Km far from family adventure park Le Pigne, 20 Km far from climbing area of Mottarone, 30 Km far from Valgrande, one of the biggest wilderness area of Italy. BY CAR: at the circular junction of Orta San Giulio follow the indications for Armeno. One km after passing through Carcegna village, take a left at Baltera (lat. (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) " N, long. (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) " E) and follow the beaten track for approximately one km. BY TRAIN: we are about 3 km from the station of Orta-Miasino. To encourage car-free travellers we can offer pickup and drop off at the station. Just please let us know ahead of time that you will be coming without your own transportation. BY PLANE: we are about 60 km from the airport of Malpensa. To reach our house you have to drive 1 km unpaved road: this may be difficult for low-deck cars, and we recommend all cars to drive slowly, this is a natural, peaceful area where cars and speed do not dominate!
