Piazza Maggiore, at the heart of the old city
The room is in a building that dates back to the XVIth Century and overlooks the magnificent Piazza Maggiore of Feltre, the very heart of the old city. Access to the room is through a quiet garden at the back of the building. This position is a very central starting point for your exploration of the ancient town and yet provides for a peaceful hiding place even during the busiest events. The room is in the basement floor that is level with the garden. It is quiet all-year-round and enjoys natural air-conditioning even in the hottest days. If you like crafts you may be interested in exploring my shop, which overlooks the little garden. I am a ceramics and glass artist: I torch glass beads in the shop and sometimes, when the weather is nice, I like throw pots on the potters wheel in the garden. The Old City of Feltre rests atop of a hill that is surrounded by the mountains of the Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi, a fantastic scenery out of the beaten path that is rich with natural variety. You can stay in the old town as a starting point for your hikes and also explore Feltre's history, its views, museums and archaeological areas. The house is just a 10 mintues walk from the railway station, a convenient elevator will help you overcome the steep difference in level between the new town and the old town. Fluffy the cat lives in the house but does not have access to your room.
