Overlooking all the Sabine hills right to Rome we built our holiday home after searching for the right spot for several years. A marvelous Italian villa, all you wish; wooden beams and natural stone, comfortable and complete, the atmosphere of a rustic casale with the luxury and light of a modern house, in harmony with pool and terraces. Located on 96 acres with olive grove and woods, between beautiful hills and with a unique panorama. This is what you are looking for or maybe just a little bit more because … the peacefulness of Villa Montagnola is indescribable. Thick walls and Venetian blinds keep the house cool. Or warm using the wood stove in the large kitchen or fireplace in the living room. Obviously with basics like WIFI and Satellite TV but also Bose SoundLink Mini, collection of DVDs and nicely filled bookcase. Cooking enthusiasts can indulge themselves. The well-equipped kitchen shows the passion for cooking. Equipped with Sabatier knife set, Magimix, Quooker and Nespresso machine. In the bookcase the Cucina Maria cookbooks, published with great success by the owner. The bottle of olive oil from its own grounds awaits you on arrival, Olio di Olive DOP della Sabina! In the wine rack a rich Sangiovese straight from the owner’s vineyard. I live in the area and will not be there daily. Every day there will be a gardner cleaning the swimming pool and garden at convenient hours. There will be a local host to greet you on arrival and departure. Spectacular mix of nature and culture. One day hiking, biking or golfing, several beautiful courses, another day Piazza Navona, Colosseum or Vatican. Water you can find at the Bracciano crater lake or at the coast. If time for city trips, do Orvieto, Todi, Perugia or Viterbo. Also worth visiting are the gardens of Bomarzo, Bagnoregio Civita or the Etruscan villages near Cerveteri. Honesty requires saying that the pleasant lazing around the house often wins from plans made. A day in Rome is always in. And after a busy Roman day you can enjoy the starry sky at the swimming pool again … nothing goes beyond the peace and quietness of Villa Montagnola! Villa Montagnola is located in the Monte Sabini, 65km north-east of Rome. From the house you look down at Torri in Sabina at 4 km. Here you find the coffee bars where the locals meet. Stroll through the alleys of this small village, thinking of the delicious cappuccino that awaits you there. The medieval villages in the area are all worth a visit. A beauty is Casperia where you can have a great lunch at Osteria Vigna at the picturesque square. And do not forget Santuario di Vescovio, a medieval sanctuary, with in the inner garden Ristorante Oasi di Vescovio, an absolute must! Sabina was a luxurious resort for prosperous Romans. Countless excavations are proof of this. Cooling and peace were sought and found. Real rural life and breathtaking silence can still be found here.
