A fantastic location. An historic house with a wealth of associations. Dating from c. 1640, the house was modernised in 1676 and then again in 1723. We have been here since 1999. A great stepping off point, whether you are going to London, The Cotswolds, Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham etc. We are very near to the Motorway network, 2 Railway Stations (Bristol Temple Meads or Bristol Parkway), Bristol Airport, Coach station in Bristol. Locally there are quality Pubs, Indian and Chinese eateries. The Annexe is a recently converted ex-agricultural building, in other lives it has been used for animal shelter, pigs, as a hay barn and to keep chickens at night. It is cosy, warm and inviting space. With underfloor heating, quality King Sized double bed, Wet Room, fully fitted Kitchen and large Lounge. TV' s in both the Lounge and Bedroom. Please NOTE, this is a listed building, as such it has a steep staircase - (not a ladder, like some Dutch property)! Quite steep never-the-less. We can usually provide off street parking through farm gate. We will explain where to park when you arrive as this is a shared area and we want to make sure we do not block our neighbour's access. We are on site, so available for any questions or problems. Also quite like talking and drinking coffee, or in the evening cider which we make from our orchard. My husband will play backgammon with anyone he can! The walls of these old buildings are so thick that broadband is an impossibility, we do have available broadband in our house, which guests are most welcome to use. Bristol has now been ranked no. 4 in the world for inspiring cities: Hambrook is a small hamlet within the Winterbourne Parish. Bristol City Centre is 7 miles away. We are near the Cotswold Way, with the footpath following the Frome River which runs adjacent to the house. There are many cycle paths, country walks, a local Museum, Farm Shops and even a Coal Mining Museum within a short distance. Please note that we have extensive garden space which you are welcome to use, please ask for details first as there are 3 properties within this curtilage, so you need to know where to go! 2 Railway Stations, 1 in the Centre of Bristol and another about 4 miles away. There are local Bus stops within 1/4 mile and friendly local Taxi services. Bristol City has some of the best eating out in the country. Moorend is in an ideal location as a stepping off point; near the M4, M5, M32, A38 and many more. Whether you want to go to the Cotswolds, Bath, Bristol, or the Badmington horse trials - Or up on the train to London for Wimbledon, Harrod's, Tate Modern. They are all just under 2 hours away on the train. Bristol is one the UK's most popular tourist destinations, whether for food, shopping, culture or just to relax. Don't forget the Clifton suspension bridge, Banksy and the SS Great Britain.
