Casa de Ferro (The Iron Loft)

Wether you want to spend some romantic days in a unique and surprising house, find a comfortable place in a quiet area for resting, or looking just for a place to stay and discover everything the West Coast has to offer, you will realize this is the perfect choice. The house is located in a very small village, 10 minutes drive from Lourinhã and the beaches of Areia Branca and Areal, 12 miles from Peniche and Caldas da Rainha and 9 miles away from Óbidos and from Buddha Éden Park, in Bombarral. We don't want to just rent our house. We want to provide you a unique experience! The Casa de Ferro (The Iron Loft), how it is known in the village, is the result of a singular architectural project. Built from a ruin, maintaining the facade, different materials were then used, such as iron (predominantly), wood, marble and glass. It was therefore possible to combine the traditional and rustic aspects of the original house, with the contemporary aesthetic boldness. The house is fully equipped, and has all the necessary commodities either for a short or a long stay, during the Summer or the Winter. In The Summer the house is cool, thanks to the efficient isolation, and you can relax in the terrace or in the pool. In the Winter the radiant floor provides you an extremely warmth environment, and you can use light clothes or even walk barefoot! Beach or country side. Every day you can choose between the many beaches of the Silver Coast. From Vimeiro to Nazaré, with Areia Branca, Consolação, Baleal, Foz do Arelho and São Martinho do Porto in between. Or you can choose from the various walking trails, either natural or historical, in Reguengo Grande, Columbeira or Óbidos. Besides the house itself, there are many places who are worth a visit (or several): In Lourinhã you have Dino Parque (one of the biggest Jurassic Parks in Europe) and Dinossaur Museum; Peniche, surf capital who also offers unique sights; the Berlengas Natural Reserve; Óbidos, medieval village with lots of cultural activity, such as the Medieval Market, the Chocolate Festival and FOLIO - International Literary Festival, with concerts and other performances in the streets, churches and in the castle; Bombarral, where you can find the unmissable Buddha Eden Park, and homeland of excellent wines, internationally prized; Caldas da Rainha, city with magnificent beauty and a vibrant street shopping, and where also you can visit the Bordallo Pinheiro Museum. If you find time, São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré and Alcobaça are all less than 1h drive distance. We don't live nearby, but we are permanently reachable and available to help whenever is needed. Reguengo Pequeno is a very calm small village, with only a café in its vicinities. Located 10Km from Lourinhã, which is the nearest town, 12Km from Bombarral, 16Km from Óbidos and 20Km from Peniche. In a short 15m trip by car, you'll be at the beaches of Areia Branca, Areal and São Bernardino. We highly recommend having a car. There are parking spaces in front of the house.
