The Curling Pond is a detached 4 bedroom house centrally situated in the seaside, historic town of Inveraray. Home to the Duke of Argyll - the castle is 5 minutes walk. A purpose-built family home with a large enclosed garden and off-street parking. The main street with all its amenities is a 2 minute walk. All public rooms, WC/cloakroom are ground floor, upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, one with a modern en-suite, plus a family bathroom. The Curling Pond is in a central location close to the famous Inveraray Jail and Inveraray Castle. Everything you could need is right around the corner - shops, pubs, hotels and bistros serving local produce. It is an ideal family holiday home with free Wifi in all areas. The Curling Pond is warm and welcoming with oil central heating and a coal effect electric stove in the lounge area; 2 large TVs with NetFlix a selection of DVDs; X-box and Wii, books and games for children and adults. The fully-equipped kitchen/dining area comes with an American-style fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, oven, hob, washing machine and tumble dryer. Well behaved pets are welcome too by prior arrangement! £20.00 per dog Please bring your dog's own clean bedding. Guests have full access to the house and garden grounds. I will be available during your stay. Inveraray offers grocery stores, a traditional butcher, coffee shops, bistros, bars, restaurants, and niche gift shops. A mobile fish van currently doing home deliveries to curling pond on a Wednesday if order placed by 1pm on the Monday Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke of Argyll, is a 5-minute walk away offering guided tours, a shop and tearoom and signposted walks around the Estate. The Georgian Inveraray Jail now a tourist attraction offers an insight into the lives and trials of times past. Loch Fyne is world-renowned for its seafood. Samphire restaurant is a 2-minute walk and the famed Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is 8 miles by car. Brambles, a 2 minute walk on the main street, serves breakfasts, their cakes and lunch menus are worth sampling too. Inveraray is located 65 miles west of Glasgow, on the shore of Loch Fyne and is an ideal base to explore the boundless historical and scenic attractions that Argyll and Bute offer. There is a regular bus service between Inveraray and Glasgow. Day trips are possible to Oban, Loch Lomond or south to the Mull of Kintyre, with its fine beaches and the possibility of ferries to Arran and Gigha and a ferry to the world-renowned whisky island of Islay. The mountains of Glencoe are just under an hour's drive away. Alternatively, stay put and explore the historic town of Inveraray itself and take on the many leisure pursuits available, including the swimming pool and spa at the Loch Fyne Hotel, walking, golf, pony trekking, cycling, fly fishing, and sailing. The National Trust gardens at Crarae, the Benmore Botanic Gardens near Dunoon (while there, explore atmospheric Puck's Glen on the other side of the road) and the woodland gardens at Ardkinglas Estate which features the Gruffalo walk are all within an easy drive.
