Leat Cottage is a beach-lover’s and cliff-walker’s paradise, with cosy pubs and intimate restaurants on the doorstep. You will easily find St Agnes, just off North Cornwall’s A30 dual carriageway, making it one of the area’s most accessible and desirable coastal hideaways. Leat is beautifully located on Quay Road – St Agnes’ most sought-after location – a narrow leafy lane connecting beach and village, each within a few minutes stroll. Cornwall’s spectacular Coastal Path rises from the Cove. Leat is an historic end-of-terrace cottage retaining many of its original features. The elevated west-facing rear garden is spacious and secluded, offering abundant sunlit opportunities for afternoon relaxation, intimate barbecues, and sundowner cocktails. Inside, Leat’s characterful lounge with wood burner is complemented by a conservatory to the front. Raised above and set well back from the leafy lane, you will enjoy sunlit breakfasts and uninterrupted dining views over open woodlands. A small kitchen to the rear, together with a shower room and toilet (sadly, no bath) complete the ground floor. Upstairs are the two bedrooms. The master bedroom has verdant open views to the front and the second bedroom overlooks the garden to the rear Guests have free rein over the entire property except the shed at the back of the garden. I live in the village so I will be on hand should any issues arise dring your stay. I can also be available on request for meet and greet to show you around. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions prior to or during your stay. I can also provide a pdf welcome pack ahead of your visit to help you plan in advance - restaurants, events, excursions etc. Alternatively, the keys are kept in a key box for those who would prefer to be left in peace :) Turn left from Leat Cottage and within a few minutes you will stumble upon one of the area’s best-loved beaches, offering surfing, swimming and kayaking, all within the sheltered seclusion of historic Trevaunance Cove. The beach is overlooked by a café and a totally-chilled restaurant, and is within a minute’s walk of the historic Driftwood Spars, serving exceptional real ales and great pub food, both al fresco - overlooking the cove - and in cosy, low-beamed bars warmed by large inglenook fires. Turning right from Leat Cottage, a five-minute meander will find you enjoying the quaint, bustling atmosphere of St Agnes, a small traditional Cornish village with independent fishmongers, butchers, greengrocers and bakers offering plentiful local produce. Several pubs, restaurants and cafes offer intimate opportunities to sample the best that fresh, locally sourced cuisine has to offer. Finally, if walking is your thing, short uphill tracks to either side of Trevaunance Cove take you onto Cornwall’s Coastal Path, an endless, spectacular cliff-top walk, interlacing hidden aquamarine coves redolent of the area’s 18th century heritage. Poldark’s Nampara mine-shaft, for example, is but a wonderful amble from Leat Cottage. Several further swimming and surfing beaches are accessible from the Coastal Path. Leat’s unobtrusive on-site parking (one car only I’m afraid) allows our guests to side-step Cornwall’s legendary parking frustrations, offering a comfortably re-assuring end to your daily explorations of all the richness that Cornwall has to offer. Leat Cottage is proudly owned and maintained by Anna and Paul, who live in the village and are always on hand to sort out any problems during your stay, so you get a hands-on dedicated service from local people who truly care that you love your holiday. And want you to return. The lounge has WIFI and Netflix as well as a fire-starter pack comprising locally-sourced sustainable logs. Leat is cleaned using only locally-made ecological materials. . Given our coastal valley location, mobile coverage is patchy. Garden furniture and BBQ equipment are stored in an outhouse at the back of a substantial rear garden. Our only regret in offering our cottage is that - as dog-lovers ourselves, and solely for the convenience of other guests - Leat cannot accommodate pooches. We look forward to welcoming you to Leat, and hope that you have a truly memorable stay.
