The Mill House is adjacent to a working water mill in the vibrant market town of Talgarth. Talgarth Mill is a water powered flour mill run by volunteers. It houses a traditional bakery and café serving delicious, locally sourced food. Talgarth achieved Gold in Wales in Bloom in 2021. The pretty river Enig flows through the centre of town. Its situation is perfect for walking and cycling in the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, canoeing, sailing and horse-riding activities are nearby. The Mill House has recently been sympathetically restored to a high standard. On the ground floor the bespoke galley kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, hob and oven, dishwasher and microwave leads into the dining dining area with dining table, with pendant feature lights. A cosy lounge with the original fireplace welcomes you to unwind, watch TV, read or just sit and relax. There is space to store bikes and walking gear if needed. A downstairs toilet. Upstairs a bathroom with waterfall shower, toilet and vanity unit. Bedroom one, the Blue Room, houses a king size bed, wardrobe and a chest of drawers. In bedroom two, a double bed, built in wardrobes and a dressing table with drawers. Bedroom three, a single bed and chest of drawers. A good night's sleep is important so all beds have very good quality mattresses and bed linen. Although there is no designated garden, guests will be able to use the Mill gardens and there is seating alongside the river. An ideal place to relax enjoying a drink and spot a wagtail or even a kingfisher if you’re lucky. The owners of The Mill House live nearby and will be ready to greet you. Essential shops including an exceptional butcher's and deli, greengrocers and organic grocers, a pharmacy, the Co-op store which houses the Post office and a cash machine are very close by as are a variety of pubs and eating places. This is an area of outstanding beauty and is perfect for those who love walking and cycling as many routes start right from your doorstep. You can walk to see the Pwll y Wrach waterfalls, featured in the TV programme 'Secrets Places. Park Wood is very close by again providing some stunning walks. Hay on Wye, otherwise known as the Town of Books and hosts the popular annual Literary Festival, is only 6 miles away and Brecon 9 miles where you can stroll along the Brecon-Monmouth canal and take in some beautiful scenery. A short drive takes you into the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Although there is a bus to Brecon, Hereford and Abergavenny the best way to get around to see the countryside is by car. There is a free car park close the the Mill House and guests can also use the Church Hall car park which is just around the corner.
