Elderflour Guesthouse & Microbakery

Only 15 minutes from Rotterdam, Elderflour is situated in a 19th century carriage house turned microbakery & guesthouse. The building features charming Dutch design elements, like steep stairs, an overall narrow build, and views of the canal and one of Schiedam's tallest windmills. We offer two cute rooms and run a sourdough microbakery on the ground floor. On Saturdays you will *guaranteed* be awakened by the smell of fresh bread. Breakfast, dinner, and bikes are all available on request. This space has its own bathroom, living room/dining area and bedroom. There is a little counter where you can make coffee and small snacks. We put a lot of love and labor into decorating the rooms. We put in an old oak floor that was previously owned by one of our best friends, reupholstered a vintage sofa that belonged to one of our grandparents and are constantly keeping an eye out for thrifted items that would make for nice additions. This room is 1 floor above ground level and requires guests to climb 1 flight of stairs. Free parking is available close to the guesthouse a 5-10 minute walk away. Paid parking is available directly in front of the building. We are centrally located in Schiedam with shops, cafes and lots of windmills accessible by foot. Public transportation to Rotterdam, The Hague or Amsterdam is also close. Trams, metros and trains are all within walking distance. I am often working downstairs during the day and am available for questions and any help guests need. If I am not on site, guests can message me or call me. The Lange Haven in Schiedam is known for its beautiful old residencies and distilleries. It's a quiet street despite the central location. We're close to windmills, museum, shops and cafes. The thing I like most about this neighborhood is the serenity. It's so peaceful and if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of Rotterdam, you're only about 15 minutes away. Directly in front of our guesthouse, paid parking is available. A few streets removed from our place, there is free parking. If you come by bike, it is possible to park your bike in front of the door where there are specific bicycle parking spaces. Additionally, it is possible to store your bike inside. We are also situated very close to the train station, the tram stop, bus stop and metro stop. Traveling to nearby cities and towns is a breeze (don't forget your face mask, though!) -We are fully vaccinated and still appreciate keeping distance and/or wearing masks indoors when this is not possible. -We encourage taking shoes off indoors as much as possible for hygiene and noise. -We offer a table d'hôte service: a delicious home cooked vegetarian meal including dessert for 17,50pp. Please order 24 hours in advance. -Breakfast can be ordered for 12,50pp. Please order 24 hours in advance. -Our microbakery opens on Saturdays at 9am if you want to come get fresh baked goods. -Our friend Nicole makes amazing meals every Friday and Saturday from her home kitchen that we can deliver to your door between 6 and 7pm.
