If you don't feel like conjuring up dinner in your kitchen or barbecuing on your private terrace, there are several restaurant options very nearby and even more in Obidos, just 7 km down the hill. Each quintinha has their own private entrance, with garden and/or terrace and the 4 acre wooded valley is open for all to roam in and there are lots of trails meandering off. We also live on site in another converted barn and are only too happy to help provide as much or as little interaction as you want. We love the fact that each farm building has a different orientation allowing everyone to have their own privacy when they want it or gather in the central courtyard if feeling social. Quinta do Bom Vento is in a tiny hamlet not visible on most maps yet only 7km from Obidos which is on every tourist must-see listings. We love the peace and privacy being surrounded by apple and pear orchards with extensive valley views but the motorway network is less than 10 mins away and a range of beaches, surf breaks, golf courses and coastal towns in under 25 minutes. The perfect combination in our mind. Although we are only 7km from Obidos and Buddha Eden and you can catch a bus at the bottom of the hill to whisk you to Lisbon in under an hour, you definitely need a car to enjoy exploring this area. Knowing how frustrating it can be renting rural properties and arriving to an empty fridge and cupboards, we provide an extensive starter pack including milk, butter, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, wine and beer along with essentials such as washing up liquid, paper towels, oils and vinegars. etc. Recognising the ever restrictive luggage allowances on flights we also provide toiletries and beach towels. We also have 2 rescue dogs - Scrabble and Bingo. Both are overly friendly black lab crosses - one more retriever, the other more a pointer. They aren't roaming freely all the time, but are not averse to joining you on your walks if you want them to go too!
