Please note they are not bedrooms as such, they are bunks in a dormitory separated into sections by 8 foot partition walls for privacy. *Booking have sole use of the bunkhouse. The bunkhouse is a quirky and unique space set in the heart of Northumberland. This is a self catered accommodation with a full kitchen, living room with small TV and multi fuel stove, bathroom with 2 hot showers, 3 loos and 3 sinks and a dormitory with bunks separated into sections of 5s and 3s by 8ft high partition walls. Towels and Duvets are not supplied in price but can be hired for a charge of £2.50/head/stay. Pillows are provided. . . . On cycle route number 1, 1/3 of the coast and castles route, 1 mile from the nearest village pub and 5 miles from the AONB coastline. The Joiner's Shop has a full kitchen, heating, hot showers, a multi-fuel stove and 1 dormitory with bunk beds sectioned in 2s, 3s and a 5. Child and dog friendly! On Cycle Route 1 as it passes Preston. mile 33 from Newcastle on the Coasts and Castles route. Preston Tower is just at the top of the hill for panoramic views of the countryside. Rolling hills, beautiful woods, country pubs, endless sandy beach walks, Preston Tower, towering castles, oodles of nature, friendly locals! BY CAR The bunkhouse is just off the A1, around seven miles north of Alnwick. Follow the brown historic property signs for Preston Tower. If you’re travelling from the south, you’ll be turning right. From the north, you’ll be turning left. Obviously. It’s about 1.5 miles down the road, and to your left. We’ve a sign out front, and you’ll be glad to know there’s ample parking in front of the building. BY TRAIN There’s a local station at Chathill which with two daily runs to Newcastle. More frequent trains can be caught to Almouth, which is about 12 miles away. BY BUS The area’s main bus station is situated in Alnwick. A local service is provided, including ‘The Coastal Clipper’ for surrounding villages. BY BICYCLE Cyclists love it here. We’re situated on the National Cycle Network, on National Route One.
