The Studio at Old Lathrisk

The Studio at Old Lathrisk is a ground floor apartment of a large historic 16th century Scottish country house near the village of Falkland (where the series #Outlander is filmed!). The Studio has recently been converted from the billiard room into a beautiful, stylish, cosy holiday space for 2 with an ensuite shower room and basic breakfasting cooking facilities. Perfect romantic hideaway with doorstep parking, private entrance and access to the families large beautiful garden. The Studio is in an idyllic rural setting with direct access to a beautiful shared garden where wildlife is encouraged. The apartment is on the ground floor with one step down. Easy parking is at the front door. There is plenty storage space for bikes and boots. There is one king size bed, 2 comfy chairs and dining area seating for a small group. There is a cooking area in the Studio with a toaster, kettle, 2 ring electric hob and a microwave/convection oven combo. Storage space is provided for food in cupboards and a fridge/freezer. There is a sink for dishwashing and kettle filling. We are happy to allow guests to be independent and access the Studio straight from the garden without having to come in to the upstairs house. We will be available for help and advice as required for local points of interest and recommendations for local eateries etc. The location is an ideal base for touring Fife being half an hour from St Andrews and an hour from Edinburgh. Highland Perthshire is 40 minutes by car. The local village of Falkland (where Outlander is filmed!) is less than 2 miles away and attracts many visitors to the Palace, tearooms, gift shops and galleries. Ladybank and Markinch are the nearest train stations, and nearest bus stops are in Freuchie and Newton of Falkland, but touring Fife and surrounds is easiest by car, bike or foot. We are happy to give advice about local walking and cycling routes and coffee stops. You will need a car or bicycle to reach us as we are 1.5 miles from the nearest bus stop and 10 minutes by car from the nearest train station at Ladybank.
