Welcome to the Purple House! This delightful and peaceful self-contained accommodation is perfect for couples’ retreats, family holidays and romantic getaways! Nestled in the township of Mount Barker and only 25 minutes up the freeway from Adelaide in South Australia’s Beautiful Adelaide Hills. Sleeps 2 –6 people with 3 bedrooms with 1 queen x2 and 2 single beds. The whole house is for you! The Purple House is perfect for couples’ retreats, family holidays and romantic getaways! Comfortable, quaint and cozy with an artistic flair! A veranda or big back deck await you for your peaceful relaxation and rejuvenation. Being very centrally located, it is a short drive to Auchendarroch House for dinner and or a movie at the Wallis Cinema Entertainment Complex, Keith Stevenson Park for a stroll and to perhaps feed the ducks and the main Gawler Street with its shops, cafes, and pubs. While staying here you can experience nature, food, wine, beaches and so much more by exploring the Adelaide Hills, the Fleurieu Peninsula, the Wine Regions of Langhorne Creek and McLarenvale, beaches of the south coast or the quaint town of Strathalbyn 20 minutes away. Historic Hahndorf is only a 10-minute drive away where you will find an abundance of food, art, music, and souvenirs while visiting Australia's oldest German town. Perhaps stop off at the Farm Barn or Beerenberg’ Strawberry Farm on your way. While staying at the Purple House enjoy your breakfast/ cup of tea or glass of wine on the lovely verandah at the front and rear of the house. A firepit and firewood are set for you in the backyard so on chilly nights you can enjoy the ambience of an crackling fire. (only available from April 29-Nov 30th) Whatever you choose to do we are sure you will be delighted with the experience! If you would like a therapeutic massage that can be arranged too. Our qualified and experienced staff are available with a portable table to come to you. We are only a phone call away and will arrange a time to meet you if possible with your and our schedules. Before arrival you will be advised of the location of the key. The Purple House in located in a quiet cul-de-sac away from main roads. Mount Barker is fairly quiet with good roads. The metro is accessable to the city and into Mt Barker . Bus time tables are in the house as is a range of brochures regarding local tourist destinations and things to do. Note that the fire place is in the back garden not inside the house.
