A sunny private apartment just 5 minutes’ walk from the aptly named Sunset Beach. Newly renovated throughout with modern kitchen, bathroom and a stylist décor. Escape from the city and crowded beaches to the forgotten gem that is Port Waikato, just over an hours drive south of Auckland. Take in the panoramic views and tranquillity of the elevated apartment after a day’s beaching, surfing or fishing nearby. Self-contained with its own entrance, shared courtyard and off-street parking. The self-contained apartment has its own entrance door and is located on a seperate floor above the main house. It is warm and sunny and recently renovated throughout with brand new kitchen, shower and W/C. The apartment has a spacious kitchen living area with dining table, sofa, tv and a large bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed. The space is perfect for a couple get away or parents with an infant or small child. There is an outdoor courtyard which is shared with the hosts separate downstairs residence. While there is no washing machine in the apartment, a shared laundry area is available on request. Please note the apartment takes the entire space of the upper floor level and its private entrance can only be accessed via a single flight of stairs. Guests may park at the top of the driveway in front of the garage which is just a few paces away from the stairs to the loft. I'm generally available to offer help at any stage and always happy to point you in the right direction. Port Waikato has that beach side character with an interesting blend of batches and new homes. Taking a walk is a friendly experience with anyone you meet along the way. In addition to the beach activities there is so much to do here - many walkways, fishing both off the beach and at the mouth of the Waikato River (plus white baiting in season), boating (a jetty but no moorings), go caving or just visit the Nikau Caves, artist studios to visit such as Black Batch Ceramics and Robin Ranga Studio, Cobourne Garden is a beautiful way to while away some time or take a picnic lunch to enjoy by the river, Sat morning Yoga at the newly built Community Centre at Sunset Beach. Port Waikato is around 25 mins drive from Tuakau and 35 mins from Pukekohe. Supermarkets are in Pukekohe. - The host lives in a separate level downstairs. - Port Waikato has a café, take-away and small shop, however no supermarkets so it pays to bring your supplies with you. - Off street parking is available. - If you want covered parking for boats or other large toys please check in advance but boat a private boat shed is generally available. - If you are visiting with an infant or child please bring your porta-cot or make contact in advance to discuss bedding options. - Wifi and TV with Netflix included. We are all on Tank Water at Port Waikato so we would respectfully ask guests to keep water use to a minimum.
