My modern, clean and tranquil home is only 4kms from town. It is close to cafes, shopping, wineries, bush walks, and farm activities, including horseriding. I am surrounded by spectacular views of hills, valleys, farmland and gardens. I would love to welcome couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and small special interest groups such as keen gardeners, food/wine lovers and photographers. My home is fresh, modern and beautiful. I am always working hard to improve my garden, trying to create interesting vistas and private sanctuaries for myself and my guests to enjoy. The front boasts a young, but lovely white woodland garden with a meandering pathway under the wispy silver birch trees. The shady front verandah leads onto an inviting expanse of lush green lawn. Although still a work in progress, my spectacular wrap around verandah has now been built and guests are encouraged to spend some time enjoying a glass of wine while you soak up the beautiful vistas of Bridgetown. So if you enjoy good food, cooking, gardening, fabulous views or taking spectacular photos, then you may have just found your little bit of paradise. I understand and respect that a lot of guests just want their own space, peace and quiet. However, it you're looking for a bit more interaction with your host, someone who is happy to show you around and take you to all the best places that Bridgetown has to offer, well I make a pretty good tour guide, or so I have been told. So I look forward to meeting you and sharing my home and my wonderful part of the world with you in the not too distant future. Guests have their own spacious bedroom with queen bed, built in wardrobe with hanging space and drawers for unpacking. Each room has a delightful view across the valley. There is a light and airy sitting room for relaxing if you would like some privacy. One spacious bathroom with large bath is shared between the three rooms. A theatre room for the use of guests who want to snuggle up on a cold winter's evening. Guests are welcome to join me at any time. Breakfasts, picnic lunches, dinner can be organized by arrangement. I am a primary school teacher and do work full time. I am home not too late in the afternoon so I am available to help guests with most planning and recommendations. I am usually working in the garden on the weekends so am at your disposal should you like me to show you around. I am a keen photographer, gardener and cook and plan on running small private events in these areas so please ask about what I can offer if you interested in any of these hobbies. Bridgetown is a delightful country town that has a lot to offer visitors. We are situated on the bank of the mighty Blackwood River, surrounded by hills and valleys that offer changing views throughout the year: from lush green paddocks in winter, to spectacular autumn trees, amazing wildflower bushwalks in spring to bare, brown paddocks with wonderful fresh water swimming in summer. Bridgetown is centrally located to the wider South West area so it is only an hour or two drive to places like Walpole and the Treetops Walk, Pemberton wineries and Big Brook Dam, boutique Margaret River, Augusta on the coast and the spectacular Boranup Forest. Bridgetown itself has so much to offer the visitor. Delicious cafes line the main street and boutique shopping. We even have one of the best gift shops right here in town called Wag Walters. For the more adventurous visitor, bushwalks through National Parks and forests are everywhere. Or you can canoe the Blackwood River, cycle through the hills or try some four wheel driving. Several major events happen in and aroung the Bridgetown area throughout the year. Some of the main ones include Open Gardens Weekend, The Blues in Bridgetown and the Blackwood Marathon. But in Bridgetown, there is something for everyone so book your room and come and explore the area. You will probably need your own vehicle to get around Bridgetown, especially if you want to do some sight seeing. We do have a local taxi service in town and I will do what I can to help you sort out your transport needs.
