The Sugarmill Stay on Mother of Farm

Our farm is home to a newly renovated 100 year old shed from the historic Broadwater Sugarmill. It has a large wooden cabin bedroom & open plan living area with high raked ceilings. A wood heater will keep you warm at night & then you'll wake to beautiful birdsong every morning. The walkable 15 acre property is only 5 minutes from Alstonville, 20 minutes from Ballina airport, 35 minutes from Byron Bay. Positioned in a beautiful part of the Northern Rivers. The Sugarmill Stay is a unique space that inspires creativity. It’s wooden cabin style bedroom faces north east over one of our paddocks & down into a underground creek bed. All rooms are large & spacious with a very open feel about them. The bathroom is huge & fitted with copper, brass & recycled wood from our property. The 2.5 metre bifold window draws you to peer out to the surrounds of remnant rainforest & an array of fruit trees. A truely open feel yet still very private. The kitchen is minimal with all the basic facilities - fridge, kettle, toaster, hot plate cooking with pots and pans. The living space is open plan & has a dining table, comfortable corduroy couch and wall mounted tv. Both the main house & the Sugarmill Stay are situated relatively close to eachother. We are happy for you to check out the grounds but be mindful that we will be mainly sticking to area around the house. There is plenty of land to explore & we are happy to show you around on arrival or whenever suits so you can see the different routes around the property We love to meet new people so will definitely be happy to interact. We also like our time as well & can get very busy around the property at times so end up settling in at night. We won’t impose on you, however if need any information or recommendation just ask & we will have plenty to speak to you about We are situated in a small cul de sac with only four properties. We have three pockets of remnant rainforest on the land & love living here because of the abundant amount of birds & life in general. It is rural, full of down to earth people and so close to all the things we love on the coastline To really enjoy your time & make the most of your stay, a hire car would get you all over the northern rivers. The sofa bed/ futon is located in the large bedroom and is suited to one adult We have lots of animals so this is the place for you if you’re an animal lover. Please note: The Sugarmill Stay is not a child friendly stay. Your stay will most likely be cancelled if you turn up with a child and haven't discussed prior.
