Lower Mountains Retreat

Situated in a bush setting in the lower Blue Mountains, the guesthouse is a cozy self contained retreat that offers partial views of the valley. Ideal for those wanting a quiet getaway. The guesthouse is located behind and above our garage (used for storage). Separate from the house, you have your own keyed entrance and covered car port. Upstairs to the loft encompasses a queen bed, ceiling fan, a second sitting area, a new air conditioner and a study nook. Downstairs is a shower, toilet, gas heater, living, dining area and a kitchenette. Please note we do not have a stove/oven however we do have a microwave, toaster, sandwich press , kettle, rice cooker and a pressure cooker / slow cooker. Included: Tea & coffee, breakfast condiments, shampoo/conditioner, board games, iron, TV with Netflix set up speically for you. We have plenty of Blue Moutnains information brochures, a book on local bush walks and a list of our favourite cafes and restaurants near by. Our daughter Amy has also made an 'insider' guide filled with photos and tips of all the things we love doing locally! What's ours is yours! Please feel free to enjoy our backyard, say hello to our chickens, view our aviary filled with Galahs, Rainbow lorikeets, Cockatiels, Canaires and Budgies. We also have a gentle collie named Indie who will always be up for a pat. On the edge of our property there is a cliff face where you can watch the cockatoos fly over the valley at sunset. Naomi and I are always up for a chat but understand the need for your privacy! We are a busy family, however I am retired and will be readily available should you need any assistance. We are also happy to assist you with transport to and from Warrimoo station, an alternative 15min walk. A quaint lower mountains village just over an hour from Sydney & 40mins from Katoomba. There are lovely local bushwalks & cafes we can show you and, of course, the train which provides easy access to the tourist attractions in the upper Mountains. As for parking, you have all the lower car port area at the base of our driveway which is quite steep. If you prefer not to drive down, there is plenty of street parking too. Whilst operating in 2017 & 2018 we were superhosts. However, for the past two years we stopped operating as our daughter Amy used the space for her own accommodation. So, since the 4th of January 2021 we are excited to open up our private retreat. This break has given us the opportunity to renovate by installing air conditioning and a new staircase to replace the ladder that once provided access to the loft. It has also given us the time come up with new ideas to make the place quaint and cozy. We hope you'll enjoy our homely touches to make your time special as you celebrate getting away to explore this beautiful part of the world. At the current moment, we have blocked off Wednesdays. However we are happy to open this day up, if you would like this for an extended period of time.
