Located only 300 m from the centre of Almayate and one kilometre from the beach – at Costa del Sol’s only unspoilt coastal stretch. Málaga and the airport can be reached within 30 min. This independent 35m² apartment is part of Cortijo Molino with a private, fenced garden of 1000m² with lawn, lounge areas, BBQ, pool and panoramic views over the sea. Should the main house be rented out you would share the pool and garden with others. The apartment is part of Cortijo Molino also containing the main house for up to eight people, which we rent out individually in the low season. The entire property got freshly renovated in 2017 and all installations and electrical appliances got replaced. The apartment has a generous kitchen/living/dining area with a huge butcherblock, a dining table and comfortable sofa. The bedroom with double bed as well as a little bathroom with shower is located in the back part of the building. There are two separate entrances, one of them leading to the sweet little terrace with nice places to enjoy both the sun or the shade. With its tasteful and stylish furnishings our accommodation clearly stands out from other standard holiday homes with their purely pragmatic interiors that are no big loss when damaged (but certainly no delight). Here, you find high-grade furniture, nicely matched textiles, classy dinnerware and cutlery, very special decoration objects and fancy art on the walls. Just walk in – and immediately feel at home. The nicely landscaped garden has areas of lawn, colourful flowerbeds, a herb garden and fruit trees – according to the season you can pick grapes, figs, nisperos, nectarines, apples or apricots. The curved pool is the ideal place to cool down on hot summer days while enjoying a 180 degree view over the sea. And those who love to swim can go on and on with the counter-current system. Besides the apartment you can of course access the garden and pool, however, should the main house be rented out these outside spaces would be shared with other guests. We live very close by and are always there for you should you need help or advice. You can also count on us to organise extra wishes – be it airport transfer, taxi, a boat trip, cooking and breakfast service or what ever. Should you arrive during reasonable times we will personally welcome you and show you around. Otherwise, we can leave you a key and you’ll find all relevant information in our welcome folder. Also, we’ll gladly take you by the hand and show you our personal hot spots. Rural idyll, breath-taking views over the sea, virgin soils and the mountains – and still only a stone’s throw away from the village. Almayate has everything you need and can be easily reached in walking distance: shops, bars, restaurants, playgrounds, bus stops. And it’s located directly next to the only unspoilt coastal strip of Costa del Sol. Only 600 m further up the coast you’ll find the popular nudist beach Almanat. You can choose between chiringuitos (beach bars) that like to see people wearing clothes… or not. The bigger town Torre del Mar is four kilometres away. Here, you’ll find loads of shops, boutiques, bars, restaurants of all kinds, ice cream parlours, cafés, discotheques, night clubs and pubs. The beach promenade stretches over various kilometres and is really nice – to go for a walk, stroll around, go rollerblading, bicycling or have the obligatory stop for tapas and a nice glass of wine. In the west Málaga, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella, Ronda, Estepona, Gibraltar or Tarifa, in the east Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, the white villages or Granada – what about a little day trip? And even Córdoba or Sevilla can be reached in around two hours by car… Almayate has a hand full of bus stops with good connections several times per hour that take you nearly anywhere. Be it Torre del Mar, Vélez-Málaga, Nerja or Málaga – just catch a bus if you don’t want to rent a car or don’t feel like searching for parking. Directly at the house there is a private parking but you’ll also find plenty of space to leave your car outside or offer your guests a space. Depending on whether you like it loud and proud or prefer the calm and relaxed way of life Almayate will hit every taste – according to the season. The beach is only busy during the really high season – the Spanish summer holidays from end of June to mid-September. Still, it has nothing to do with those overfilled vacation strips where you see more bodies than sand. From mid-September to mid-June the beach of Almayate is virtually deserted except for the odd fisher, especially during the week. Still, some chiringuitos (beach bars) are open so you can enjoy your freshly grilled fish right on the beach in total peace. The village is accordingly un-touristic during these times irrespective of some clever souls taking a break over regional bank holidays. The most important village event takes place on the first Sunday in May – the Romería, definitely worth seeing. The entire population of Almayate puts on their traditional flamenco dresses and suits, especially bread bulls are beautifully decorated and pull colourful wooden wagons, then the milelong train accompanied by countless horses moves from here over Torre del Mar to hit a secluded park for an enormous pick-nick. A must-see for Spain lovers. Easter is also a major issue in Spain – especially in Vélez-Málaga (approx. 9 km away) colourful and impressive parades take place over an entire week (“semana santa”). During the summer months one fiesta leads to the next. All villages have their own feria (fun fair) with dance, stands and fun rides. Also the three-day music festival “Weekend Beach” has made quite a name for itself over the past years and attracts the masses from near and far. Over the winter months and even around Christmas it is rather relaxed here, even in Torre del Mar, the Spanish keep to themselves. So how about some X-Mas shopping in Málaga? The seasonal decorations are definitely worth seeing. And as soon as the sun shines you’ll even be warm wearing only a T-shirt.
