A traditional Tinos village house for a relaxing and memorable vacation. . The house is located in the heart of Triandaros, one of the best preserved of the island's medieval villages. It is 6.7 kms, or 12 minutes by car north-east of "Hora," the port and capital of Tinos. At a commanding altitude of 350 metres the village affords a stunning south west view down over the terraces to the beaches and the crystal clear waters of Aegean where other islands float in the distance. The height of the village gives it a refreshing temperature during hot summer months. . According to the Greek philosopher Cornelius Castoriades Tinos is a "hand made" island. It offers a stimulating mixture of unique attractions. There are more than forty pristine village to explore. The tended cobblestone pathways invite you to walk from village to village. There are monasteries, secret caves, castles and ruins from ancient times. The famous pigeon houses are spotted all over the island as are small chapels in the fields, stone outbuildings for animals and abandoned marble quarries. Unique beaches surround the island. Some of these hum with activity and family life, on others you can find complete privacy. Since antiquity the island has been famous for its marble and there is now a fine museum that traces the history of this ancient art. . The two story house is located in the heart of the village, yet only fifty level meters from a parking area. The house can accommodate from 3-5 persons, and in addition there is an independent stable-house below with double bed, bath and small kitchen suitable for two additional guests. . A striking feature of the house is the large loggia/balcony extending from the living room area. Vine covered and flower filled it offers extensive shade while affording a stunning view of the adjacent villages. To the side of the house there is a lovely wind-protected space for resting and outside dining. . The first floor offers a living room with a unique stone fireplace, a kitchen with all the modern amenities, a dining area and w.c. On the upper floor, in addition to a full bathroom, there are two bedrooms, the one with a double bed, the second with a semi-double bed and extra wooden bunk. Both bedrooms lead to a balcony offering a panoramic view of the Aegean or the night sky. The house is well and comfortably furnished. The stable-house below can accommodate two persons. . There is a bakery in the village and just 200 meters from the house a well known family run taverna. For a day trip (or more) from the port of Tinos a half-hour ferry ride will take you to the island of Siros, or to Mykonos with the adjacent archaeological island of Delos, or to Andros.
