Peaceful paradise

Plumtree Cottage is a lovely home near the historic town of Melrose, the Borders Abbeys and Abbotsford once the home of writer Sir Walter Scott. This area is excellent for cycling, motor cycling, walking and simply touring. The twin room is suitable for walkers and cyclists or children. Guests have access to a clean shower room adjoining the bedroom and they are welcome to use the sitting room we call The Snug. Breakfast is in the farmhouse style kitchen and there is a cloakroom for outdoor gear. We shall interact with guests on arrival, occasionally in The Snug and sometimes at breakfast which will be self serve. This is a picture postcard village with a variety of interesting characters! It's beside The Eildon Hills so great for walking and cycling. The views from the house are to die for .. It's best to have a car, good walking legs or a bicycle but there are buses to nearby towns and the railway station at interesting times of day! Please ask. The owners can offer lifts if convenient. We are near the tourist towns of Melrose, Kelso and Jedburgh, with historical abbeys and family-owned shops and cafes. Abbotsford, once the home of writer Sir Walter Scott, is a ten minute drive. The general hospital and regional council are within two miles.
