It's an ideal base from which to explore the mountains of Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula, or Anglesey. Part of a complex of 5 properties offering guests prime location seafront accommodation. There are 2 bedrooms sleeping 3 guests; 1 double and 1 single room. There is a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Complimentary dishwasher tablets and cleaning products will be provided for your stay. There is plenty of good quality crockery and utensils, all you could possibly need to cook up great meals. There is a spacious lounge, which features a flat-screen TV and DVD player. There is a family bathroom with a shower over a bath, washbasin, and toilet. Shared washer/dryer facilities are available on the top floor, and complimentary washing powder and fabric conditioner are provided, though these may also be used by other guests staying at the same time. If you're looking for a day out, maybe join the Welsh Highland Railway steam train in Caernarfon or go up to Snowdon on the Mountain Railway. However, it's far more rewarding to walk if you can as the seats are quite hard and if its foggy you don't see much of the view, but it's still fun if you take a picnic. If you like to get out and about in all weathers, at any time of year, this could be your affordable base in the heart of coastal north Wales, everything is on your doorstep. Bring your bike with you, or enjoy sea fishing, water sports, This is an all-around good choice for family holidays and romantic weekends away. Caernarfon is just 6 miles away, with its impressive castle, Unesco World Heritage Site, Waterside Doc area, and Art centre, also many independent shops and restaurants within the winding streets. The opportunities are endless for a wonderful break any time of year. Guests will have the entire apartment available to them exclusively for the entire duration of the booking, which also includes access to the complex grounds. The grounds offer bike, boat, and canoe storage which is found at the exterior of the property. A communal enclosed grass garden, with patio furniture and BBQ, is also available. Bookings and initial communication will be handled by Quality Cottages, and the owners/caretakers will be available during your stay if you should need anything. Details for contact will be given closer to the time of your arrival. Just a short drive from Caernarfon, the beautiful beach at Dinas Dinlle is well worth a visit. It has free parking nearby and a beach café that serves an excellent Welsh breakfast. Facilities include disabled access, promenade, toilets and a beach shop but you need to bring beach chairs. The beach has extensive golden sands that give way to an area of pebbles near the road. One of the best things about Dinas Dinlle beach is the wonderful view across the bay to Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula. Clean, safe and ideal for swimming, the beach has the prestigious Blue Flag Award and is recommended by the Marine Conservation Society for its pristine waters. The beach has two slipways for speedboats and jet skis. Other popular activities at Dinas Dinlle include snorkelling, bass fishing and windsurfing when conditions are suitable. The area is a designated Site of Special Scientific interest (SSSI) due to a number of rare birds that live in the area. There are remains of an Iron Age hill fort to the south. There are good road links to and from Dinas Dinlle and across Caernarfon and the North Wales area of Gwynedd, as well as seasonal public transport routes, and good local taxi firms. The nearest train station is found at Llanwnda, just a few miles from Ocean House. Dinas Dinlle is also home to Caernarfon Airport, Located in the heart of Snowdonia, operating scenic and training flights all year round. With an on-site aviation museum, cafe, it is home to the Wales Air Ambulance and the HM Coastguard Helicopters operated by Bristow. The airport was originally opened in 1941 and known as RAF Llandwrog. The base was primarily used for training gunners, radio operators, and navigators and later was the home for the RAF Mountain Rescue. Pleasure Flights over Caernarfon Castle & the Menai Straits are regular, and special routes are also available on request. Up to 2 dogs are permitted at no additional charge.
