Jordan River Cabin

All the comforts of a modern cabin in our newly built "Jordan River Cabin" nestled amongst 3 acres of tall evergreens with floor to ceiling window views. Fire up the BBQ on the wrap around deck. Wood stove comes supplied with kindling & firewood. Open concept, fully stocked kitchen with everything you need. Fresh towels & linens for 2 king size bedrooms & 2 rain shower bathrooms, a huge soaker bathtub upstairs, a hot outdoor rain shower + wood fired cedar hot tub & a newly added meditation deck! Good Vibes in the forest at our modern "surf shack". This double height open concept kitchen & living area, 2 king sized bedroom, 2 rain shower bathroom cabin is self contained and sits on 3 acres of forested land so you will have plenty of space to enjoy on your own. No blinds in the floor to ceiling living room windows as the cabin is so private! The exterior of the cabin is hand cut cedar shake and the ceiling features exposed wood beams. All wooden beams, decking, stairs, live edge counter tops, shelves and window sills were milled right here in Jordan River. There's an upstairs sundeck if you wish to catch some rays or practice some yoga and a wraparound deck with hand built picnic table downstairs. The fireplace is already stocked with wood for a fire (if the season permits), with more logs in the woodshed. There is no TV, but a blue tooth Bose speaker is available for your use. The washer and dryer (with detergent available for your use) are located in the 2nd bathroom downstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, toaster, kettle, variety of coffee makers and stocked with the essential cooking tools. There is also a BBQ grill on the back deck. There is a brand new comfortable king sized bed in both the bedrooms and there is room for 2 in the big soaker tub upstairs. Rain showers are installed in both bathrooms and there is a hot outdoor rain shower on the side of the house a long with a wood fired cedar hot tub which we can provide direction for your use. Please inquire if you would like to use hot tub so that we can have it filled prior to your arrival. Our cedar tub is really nice experience if you have time and like to stoke a fire! This year we built a small wooden platform across the grass yard which we imagine would be a nice place to meditate amongst the trees or practice yoga for one. You will have access to the entire property and cabin except for the electrical shed and garage. We do have a wonderful off-site property manager who is usually accessible via email or cell phone should you need anything urgent. We are also available through email or airbnb messaging to answer any additional questions although our detailed house manual should cover most bases. We are surrounded by nature. Be re-inspired by the Ocean and Mountains and immerse yourself in the Forest. Walking distance to Jordan River Regional Park and China Beach Campground. Near multi use trails and hikes to quiet pristine beaches. There is no public transport to remote Jordan River so you will definitely need a car for the journey there. We are 13 minute walking distance to the China Beach Campground with nice trails (all around 1km long) that lead you down to the beach. There is very little cell phone coverage once you pass the town of Sooke. However, we do have a landline on the property. Because of our remote location, currently there is only very slow satellite internet service so we have very limited wifi at the cabin (which is not suitable for downloads or streaming at all, and it will be capped if limit is reached). It is meant for messaging and emailing without large attachments. The town of Sooke is the last stop for gas, groceries and supplies on your way to the cabin from Victoria. The Cold Shoulder Cafe is just down the road from the cabin and they offer up coffee, tea, wifi and a selection of home baked goods and some Cold Shoulder merch. Other than that, there are no other shops or restaurants at Jordan River but please check my guidebook for recommendations nearby.
