Somersby Farm Cottage is a great place to experience the rural lifestyle in a spacious and beautifully refurbished 2 bedroom self-contained farm cottage with kitchen, BBQ, firepit and views over a 6 acre paddock. All this just 35 minutes from Hornsby - just 10 minutes off the M1. 25 minutes to Terrigal & 30 to Avoca and close to Australian Reptile Park and the many Somersby wedding venues. It has new floating floors in the very spacious open plan sitting and dining room and a new kitchen as well as a bathroom with huge shower. The two bedrooms are a good size with a 5 star hotel-standard beds; King (can be 2 singles) and a Queen. Outside there is a deck where you can sip a coffee or something stronger as you look out over our 6 acre paddock. Fancy a BBQ or a fire-pit evening? It's all there and set-up for you. Simon has a 30 year history in hospitality and you'll be delighted by the space and the air, as well as a few little extras like a pod coffee machine, home-made jams and eggs from the hens. There's ample free WiFi and there will always be something cold in the fridge to welcome you for your stay at Somersby Farm Cottage. You will have the whole of the 2 bedroom cottage and garden to yourseves. We live 150 metres away in another house. We'll be on hand to help if you need us, but otherwise you are undisturbed. We live in a rural idyll, yet so close to Sydney. You have a 6 acre paddock at your door to roam on and the birdlife is varied and fantastic; black cockatoos, whipbirds, finches, wagtails, rosella parrots and many others. Plenty of butterflies and also ducks on our dam too. You can be self-catering but also close enough to Gosford if you fancy a night out. By the way, we are pet friendly but need to approve any stay with animals. The pets can access the main floating-floor living area but not the bedrooms. There is a nice tiled laundry for the pets to sleep in (or the living area is OK too). A booking for 2 persons assumes you need the king bedroom only. Tell us if you also need the queen room for a 2 persons booking. Parking right outside your cottage. No public transport to speak of but 15 minutes' drive to Gosford rail. We are both double vacinated and would expect our guests to be too. We do have an unfenced farm dam and two unfenced ponds on our property, so we think it would be safer not to book if you have kids that may be at risk. Some pets may be permitted but only on application.
