The cabin is located 1 mile south of Danbury, just north of Webster and Siren. The area is full of fun summer activities. The Gandy Dancer bike trail is 3/4 mile from the cabin. The St. Croix Casino is located in Danbury. In the summer there are free music concerts in Siren. We are located on 2 acres of land, most of which is forest with a walking trail in the back. The Timbers movie theater, miniature golf & more is in Siren. Grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations are also nearby. Come & enjoy the view from the living room or the relaxing screened-in porch in this peaceful, 3 bedroom cabin on Long Lake! We have a new septic system as well as an air conditioner and new gas grill. A charcoal grill is also available. Features include a beach and lake toys! Located on a dead end road this cabin is serene and removed from high traffic (though we do have neighbors on both sides of us). Rustic 3 season cabin with knotty pine interior. The cabin features a large screened in porch that overlooks 49 acre Long Lake. It is the perfect place to listen to the loons and watch the moon reflection dance across the lake at night, or enjoy a night by the fire. There are three bedrooms and a small bathroom with a shower stall. The kitchen has cabin sized appliances (fridge & stove/oven), common utensils and cooking equipment including a coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, crock pot & microwave. Coffee and Tea provided, free of charge. There are spices and dishes available for your use as well. The living room is cozy with ample natural lighting. Three large windows look out to the lake. There are electric wall heaters for use on chilly nights in the spring or fall. Bring your own beach towel; there is a nice beach area (sandy when the lake isn't too high), fire pit and gas grill. Take a paddle boat, kayak or canoe for a ride around the lake and see the wildlife; bald eagles, turtles, geese, loons & more! There is no public access to the lake, so although it's a small lake, you will likely have the entire thing to yourself 90% of the time. The lake is spring fed and is good for swimming, among other activities. Guests have full access to the cabin and everything in it. Guests can use paddle boats, kayaks, canoe, hammock, and water toys. A pump is provided for the inflatable toys but please feel free to bring a backup if you like. You can drive right down to the cabin and park next to it. There is ample parking for cars, but not necessarily for more than one truck with trailer. Not good for boat access. The cabin is just under 2 hours drive from the Twin Cities. It is about an hour drive from Duluth. Guests will have access to the beach, paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes. There are a variety of floating toys and life vests. Plenty of games and puzzles inside for any rainy days, and a hammock for relaxing. You will have complete access to both docks; the main dock with bench is shared with our family cabin; we do sometimes use the dock as well. We are usually at the cabin next door. If we are there, we will be available if you need help with anything or suggestions on things to do in the area. We will honor your privacy first and foremost, but if you would like interaction with us, you are welcome to join us in feeding the fish off the end of the dock, paddle boat racing or sitting around the fire (you will have your own fire pit to use also). It is entirely up to you. We are located on a dead end paved road. Where pavement ends sandy/gravel driveway begins. Most neighbors are here on the weekends only, although we do have year-round neighbors too. There are four cabins on our stretch of road; two of which are ours. There is a local grocery store (Wayne's) and laundry mat about a mile away, as well as several restaurants. The Danbury casino is about a mile away with several dining options. They also have a great prime rib sandwich! A small town café (Amelia's) and bakery is located on the main road (Hwy 48) in Danbury. Great for breakfast. The Log Cabin has a gas station, hunting and fishing items, novelty clothing and shoes and gifts; they also have a small restaurant with chicken, pizza, and ice cream, to name a few. All bedding and towels (EXCEPT BEACH TOWELS) are furnished as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner. We ask that there is no smoking in the house or on the porch; if you smoke outside please dispose of your butts in a container you have brought, not on the ground, flower pots, or in the fire pit. Please feel free to contact us at anytime for anything.
