Orinoco Retreat is 10 minutes to cafes, 15 minutes to Motueka, 35 minutes to Abel Tasman NP, 35 minute to Kahurangi NP walking tracks, 45 minutes to Nelson, & 1 hr to Nelson Lakes NP & Golden Bay. Set on our 5 ha property in the beautiful Orinoco Valley, and located well off the road and away from the sound of traffic, this very tranquil and well appointed 3 bedroom house has pastoral views, and looks out onto the Mt Arthur Range in the Kahurangi National Park. The house is fully configured for comfortable and relaxed living, and is of a high standard. All linen, towels, toiletries etc are provided. Your only requirements will be your personal effects and food. The Motueka River is less than 5 minutes away and 1/2km of the Orinoco Stream meanders through the property. A truly special place to stop awhile. The house is carpeted throughout and is tastefully furnished. Aside from 3 double bedrooms, there is also an enclosed sunroom off the lounge with a double sofa bed. In the bathroom there is a large ball and claw bath. There is also a separate shower room. In the lounge is a 40" smart TV and in the dining room a 32"TV. There is also an extensive library of books and magazines, and well over 100 DVDs. There is a selection of board games available as well as outdoor games to keep the children occupied. Anne's art gallery and studio is a visual feast of art works in all forms, as well as a number of World of Wearable Art creations. For our guests convenience we have compiled a comprehensive clear file of information on activities, arts & crafts, vineyards, sightseeing and eating out in the Nelson, Golden Bay and Nelson Lakes regions, with recommendations and directions on how to get there. The paved patio, with extensive and peaceful pastoral views of the valley, has outdoor furniture and BBQ. The water supply is the purest of spring water sourced directly from underground. No need for bottled water here! The house is located on our property. Although guest privacy is respected at all times, we are available to assist and advise if required. Located less than a 5 minute drive from the beautiful Motueka river, renowned as one of the South Islands premier Brown Trout fisheries, and also providing the opportunity for picnicking, swimming & kayaking. The diversity provided by the location of our holiday home is superb. We are also within easy driving distance to many of the regions vineyards, craft outlets, cafes etc. Dunbar Estate Winery and Cafe is just a 5 minutes drive away. Your own transport is essential. As the cottage is set in a half ha paddock there is ample space for both car parking as well as boats, trailers etc. No children rate. Only babies in bassinettes free of charge. As the house is located half a km off a public road, security has never been an issue. You can rest easy in the assurance that in thirty years we have never had an unexpected event.
